SKU: A0.491772

By Damion Wallace (arranger). By Carl Maria von Weber (1786-1826). Arranged by Damion Wallace. This edition: Interactive Download. Classical. Score and parts. 10 pages. Duration 90. Published by Damion Wallace (A0.491772).

String quartet/orchestra arrangement of a von Weber piano allemande. This piece, along with its Allemande No. 2 companion, is great for teaching classical music forms and instrument roles. The 1st violin part is challenging for beginners, while the other parts allow young players to participate actively, though without being bored. Many different bow strokes are used, as well as a variety of accidentals in order to introduce students to new finger positions. Finally, this lilting waltz presents interesting rhythmic elements which will keep students engaged and audiences entertained.

String Quartet String Quartet - Level 5 - Digital Download

SKU: A0.1333886

Composed by Carl Maria von Weber (1786-1826). Arranged by Stephen Levintow. 19th Century,Romantic Period. 28 pages. Cypress Publishing #920165. Published by Cypress Publishing (A0.1333886).

Weber wrote this programmatic piano showpiece as a gift for his bride. Today it is best known in the brilliant orchestration by Hector Berlioz. Our full length quartet version, transposed to a more string-friendly key, aims to capture the verve and dash of the original. Somewhat technically challenging when played at full tempo.

CYPRESS PUBLISHING is pleased to be the imprint for arrangements for string ensemble by Stephen Levintow. He is a free lance professional violist and violinist specializing in chamber music, who began making string quartet and trio arrangements for wedding, party and corporate events, to expand the repertory or to improve on existing versions. Selections include unusual pieces by both familiar and lesser-known composers, plus standard classical and popular favorites.

The goal is to produce high-quality, musically satisfying arrangements faithful to the composer’s original material, yet sight-readable in most cases by working professionals or intermediate to advanced students. The full range of normal string technique is employed, while avoiding unnecessary technical complexity. Melodic material is distributed throughout the four voices where appropriate, to maintain listener and performer interest. All parts and scores are set in Sibelius© software format, with careful attention to legibility and page turns.
