String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Digital Download SKU: A0.498087 By Adam Levine & Tony Lucca, Boyz II Men, En Vogue, and The Beatles. By John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Arranged by Jeff Perholtz. Rock. Score and parts. 7 pages. Published by Fab Forward Entertainment (A0.498087). The Beatles -Yesterday (String Quartet) This arrangement will allow you to perform the song as it was originally recorded, accompanying an acoustic guitar/vocalist. A lot of research went into ensuring that this arrangement is as accurate to the original work as possible. There are many pictures online of George Martin's original score. In an interview with his son Giles (see Youtube link), Martin indicated that he and McCartney made several changes to the original. For example, McCartney added the following: M35 the Cello run to Eb; M44-M48 the high A on Violin I. When isolating the string section by soloing the left channel of the original recording, one can clearly hear several additional changes, such as the addition of double stops and inversions throughout the song. For example, Violin I goes to E in M11; Violin I & II hold the 3rd note of the harmony in M37. The end result of these changes is a masterpiece that undoubtedly one of the most successful recordings of all time.

He also wrote and directed films, wrote screenplays, and designed album covers. Zappa is often cited as one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century, and his music continues to be revered by fans around the world. His song Oh No is an example of his unique and quirky approach to music, combining elements of jazz, funk, and rock with a humorous and irreverent attitude. The song is a parody of the Beach Boys' Good Vibrations, and its lyrics express Zappa's disdain for the commercialization of music. The song is a classic example of Zappa's irreverent and offbeat sense of humor, and it remains a fan favorite to this day.

String Quartet String Quartet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1025084 Composed by Shawn Roney. Arranged by Phyllis Hopper. 20th Century,Contemporary,Jewish,Sacred,Spiritual. Score and parts. 8 pages. Gregory Shawn Roney #5740109. Published by Gregory Shawn Roney (A0.1025084). For a Synagogue In Pittsburgh, In C Minor will touch your heart.Dedicated to the victims of the Tree of Life Synagogue tragedy of 2018, this mood piece is best suited for Jewish religious events; however, because it is an instrumental, it also is effective as a prelude piece for Christian liturgical services. A piano solo version of this was performed Oct. 27, 2019, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Excelsior Springs, Missouri, by the music collective Sacred & Secular before the start of the service. One congregation member, who also is a member of Sacred & Secular, was moved to tears. In terms of technical proficiency, For a Synagogue In Pittsburgh is an excellent fit for intermediate students/players and would fit best in recitals and/or concerts that include two or three other introspective-sounding pieces. More famous examples would include Debussy's Clair de Lune and Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata.Plans are underway to expand this ensemble arrangement (string quartet, offered with score and parts) to include an SATB vocal arrangement and make it available on Mo-Mutt Music's Sheet Music Plus page.

String Quartet String Quartet,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.530945 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Klas Krantz. Classical,Folk. Score and parts. 7 pages. Amadeus Music #2027379. Published by Amadeus Music (A0.530945). The origin of the tune was for a long time somewhat mysterious, as no other collector of folk tunes encountered it, and all known examples are descended from Ms. Ross’ submission to Petrie’s collection (1855). The title of the air comes from the name of the county located in Northern Ireland. The air was collected by Jane Ross of Limavady, County Londonderry, who heard it played by an itinerant piper or fiddler. The descendants of blind fiddler Jimmy McCurry assert that he is the musician from whom she transcribed the tune but there is no historical evidence to support this speculation. The tune was listed as an anonymous air, with a note attributing its collection to Jane Ross of Londonderry. This led to the descriptive title Londonderry Air being used for the piece

Published by Slide Ride (A0.784347). 1 Octave Scale Studies in 15+ keys for 4-part ensembles of like or mixed instruments If this is your first exposure to these scale studies, you are in for a treat! Donuts, if you make a mistake! The initial incarnation of these studies were written for trombone quartet and we would play them in the Tennessee Tech Trombone Choir with the challenge that whomever made the first mistake had to buy donuts for the rest of the ensemble. Since then I have brought that version to several clinics and warm up sessions. One time before I got to explain the title, a fellow trombone professor said, Oh, I get it! Don’t step in the holes!I only wish I had thought of that myself... Since we have one of the best donut shops in TN here in Cookeville, treating the studio to sugar coated goodies was always my intent. As with those initial exercises, you can vary these as much as you’d like.·     Choose a tempo.·     Choose a dynamic.·     Choose an articulation/style.One way I like to play these is to have one person be the model, playing the entire scale over and over while everyone else plays the fragmented versions. That helps everyone to keep on track and stay in time. Double or triple up the parts for ensemble cohesion with a larger group.Practice one key, gradually speeding it up to improve fluidity, or choose a variation and take it through all keys, playing version A, B, C, or D then skipping to play the same set in a new key.If you want an additional challenge, play them in different octaves or change the key. Play the F Major set in f minor (all forms), different modes, etc. Players really have to be on their toes to remember if they are playing melodic minor in the ascending or descending form! For jazz players, try swinging them in dorian or mixolydian modes. The variations are endless! If you are using these with transposing instruments, 1) is F Major in Concert Pitch, 2) is Bb Major in Concert pitch, and so on. When you reach a scale that is enharmonic for another key (Db/C#, Gb/F#, or Cb/B), they are presented in both keys for each instrument so Trumpets can play in Eb while the Flutes are playing in C# with similar examples for all keys. All Donut Etudes with the same volume number are compatible so you can play them in mixed quartets or large ensembles with one or more instruments/people on part 1 and a different instrument on part 2, etc. Since the quartets are all identical, conductors/coaches can use any of the scores to tell which part should be playing at what time. Once you have played a scale with one set of parts, everyone can rotate to a different part and play the same scales again!Enjoy!

Instead of violin solo, violins I might play its part; then the part of violins will change to that of violins II. String quartet can also benefit from this arrangement.According to Eugen d'Albert (1864 - 1932), the Bagatelles of Opus 119 form excellent examples of the master's work of the last period. String Quartet String Quartet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.549055 Composed by Franz Schubert. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Holiday,Instructional,Romantic Period,Standards. 11 pages. Jmsgu3 #3448703. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549055). Schubert's Moment Musicaux is a collection of six short pieces for solo piano composed by Franz Schubert. They are among the most frequently played of Schubert's piano music and have been recorded many times. The Moments Musicaux are supreme examples of Schubert's ability to suggest the subtlest nuances of emotion, which shift and alter literally in a moment. The composition of the Moments was quite sporadic, with the third and sixth movements appearing in various collections of works compiled by publishers in 1823/24 and the complete collection appearing in 1828, the year of Schubert's death. The Moments Musicaux are short pieces, shorter than his Impromptus, and are collected under the opus number 94. They encompass various moods and moderate difficulty, showcasing Schubert's skill in touching different tonal areas within a single movement. Schubert's Moment Musicaux No. 3 is a significant and widespread piece. It is described as energetic, playful, and lyrical. The Moments Musicaux are among Schubert's best-loved works, and No. 3 is known for its whimsical merriment.

String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1128370 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by James M. Guthrie. Baroque,Chamber,Classical,Contest,Festival,Wedding. 30 pages. Jmsgu3 #728962. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.1128370). J. S. Bach's Six Little Preludes BWV 933-938 were composed during the Baroque period. The preludes are in the key of C major and are among Bach's most famous works. They are short pieces, each lasting about two minutes in duration. Each prelude is a miniature, self-contained piece with its own musical ideas and themes. The preludes demonstrate Bach's mastery of counterpoint and his ability to create complex, interesting musical textures. The first prelude is simple and joyful, while the second prelude features a fugue. The third prelude is a chromatic, slightly more serious piece. The fourth prelude is a bright, joyful piece with a lot of counterpoint. The fifth prelude is quiet and contemplative, and the sixth is more lively and upbeat. These preludes provide an excellent example of Bach's mastery of the Baroque style.

String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1208462 Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven (1770 – 1827). Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. 19th Century,Chamber,Classical,Contest,Festival,Wedding. 10 pages. Jmsgu3 #806573. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.1208462). 4. Andante.Beethoven's Bagatelles Op. 33 are pretty typical of his early style, retaining many compositional features of the early Classical period.  The first bagatelle is arguably one of Beethoven's most well-known pieces. While they may seem light-hearted and not to be taken too seriously, they are still well-crafted works that embody the younger Beethoven's style. The Bagatelles Op. 33 were composed by Beethoven in 1801-02 and published in 1803. Bagatelles are shorter and less complex than sonatas, often consisting of a single movement. They were intended to be played as light entertainment or as encores at the end of a concert. The Bagatelle No. 4 of Op. 33 by Beethoven is a sentimental Andante set in ternary form. The piece is cast in the key of A major. The first section of the piece is characterized by a simple tuneful melody that is repeated throughout the section. The second section is in the parallel homotonic minor key of A minor and features a more dramatic and intensely brooding harmonic sequence with no actual melody. It’s like a thunderstorm threatening to upset a picnic, but no real damage was done. The third section brings us back to our optimistic A major environment and develops the melody through artful variation. The piece ends with a brief codetta featuring octave displacement. Overall, the piece is an excellent example of Beethoven's ability to create a memorable melody, and a contrasting harmonic sequence, and develop these in a short amount of time.

Classical,Concert,Instructional,Romantic Period,Standards. Score and parts. 8 pages. Diego Marani #5022289. Published by Diego Marani (A0.528175). Sylvia, originally Sylvia, ou La nymphe de Diane, is a full-length ballet in two or three acts, first choreographed by Louis Mérante to music by Léo Delibes in 1876. Sylvia is a typical classical ballet in many respects, yet it has many interesting features that make it unique. The prelude to the first act and the pizzicati in the third are the significantly more famous sections of this already notable score. The latter, the more famous, is a well-known example of pizzicato style. This section is, according to The New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians, traditionally played in a halting, hesitant style that appears to have been no part of Delibes's conception. This arrangement for string quartet includes the following parts: Violin I, Violin II, Viola, Cello.
