The famous carol melody is clearly heard against simple, catchy,rhythmic patterns with repeated motifs, making it very accessible students and amateur quartets. Harmonically it is quite novel and solid, whilst a brief digression in the middle creates a charming contrast. Highly recommended, this is a novel, well-constructed arrangement which is very appealing.
