String Quartet String Quartet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.578919 Composed by David Warin Solomons. 20th Century,Contemporary,Ragtime. Score and parts. 7 pages. David Warin Solomons #1999311. Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.578919). A quirky ragtime originally written for guitar duo (also available on this site), now arranged for various instrumental quartets. It is called bifocal because of the brief bitonal effect in various places. The rhythm switches gently from 4/4 to 3 3 2 /8 from time to time (when it does I have grouped the notes in 3s and 2s to make it clear - make sure they are not misinterpreted as triplets!).The sound sample is a performance by London Strings at Angel Studios, Islington, London.

String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1086066 Composed by Chevalier de Saint-Georges. Arranged by Artaria Editions. Classical. Score and parts. 142 pages. Artaria Editions #690260. Published by Artaria Editions (A0.1086066). For string quartet Score and parts Artaria Editions AE431 Edited by Allan Badley 142 pages This is a scholarly edition of a public domain work. The string quartet holds pride of place in Bologne de Saint-Georges instrumental works, with three sets of six works each. With neat but surely unintentional symmetry these quartets include his first and last instrumental works, the Six quatuors à cordes, Op.1, and the Six Quatuors concertans, Op.15. The present quartets fall midway between these two publications. Composed in 1777 (according to Gabriel Banat, the best and most recent of Saint-Georges’ biographers) the Six Quartetto concertans were issued two years later in a breathtakingly inaccurate edition by Durieu in Paris. Given the unusually high number of errors and inconsistencies in Durieu’s edition it seems most unlikely that Saint-Georges was involved in its preparation. No other edition of the quartets is known although a second printing of the set using the same plates was made ca 1782. Quartet I in Bb major Quartet II in G minor Quartet III in C major Quartet IV in F major Quartet V in G major Quartet VI in Bb major.

String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.844848 Composed by Felix Alexandre Guilmant. Arranged by Phil Beaman. Romantic Period,Standards. Score and parts. 16 pages. Phil Beaman #5741603. Published by Phil Beaman (A0.844848). Alexandre Guilmant (1837-1911) was a Parisian organist, performer, and composer. This Marche was originally written for organ in his pedagogical books. I have arranged it for Instrumental Quartet in typical Romantic Symphonic style and I have filled it with expressive markings to bring out the incredible drama of this piece. There is a Trio style section in the sub-dominant key which I treat as an instrumental duet. The piece is Advanced Intermediate realizing that it pushes many of the instruments to both extremes of their ranges. It is furthering challenging due to the plethora of romantic accidentals including double sharps and double flats and constant dynamic changes. This piece amply rewards you in the end with a very impressive and dramatic repertoire performance piece.

This version has been adapted and facilitated for a small instrumental quartet, this arrangement is ideal for beginners in music or children who need to practice together. The theme has been reduced to approximately 3 minutes and 24 seconds, where the first voice does the melody while the remaining three do the rhythmic marking along with the harmony.Ludwig van Beethoven's Symphony No. 7 in A major Op. 92 was written in mid-1811 while he was in the spa town of Teplice, Bohemia hoping to regain his health. It was completed in 1812, and was dedicated to Count Moritz von Fries. It had its premiere at a charity concert for soldiers wounded at the battle of Hanau, Vienna during the Napoleonic wars, under the conductor of the composer himself.

Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1114067 By Budapest Scoring String Quartet. By David Warin Solomons. Classical,Comedy,Contemporary. Full Performance. Duration 136. David Warin Solomons #715968. Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.1114067). Instrumental quartet based on my choral piece The Choir in the Rain which is a sequence of limericks written and set to music by the composer imagining the scene if a choir were made to sing in the rain, complete with colds, coughs, sneezes and fever. Original limericks: (Introductory words: pitter patter pom etc) Our conductor was trying to train our choir to sing in the rain the music got wet and to our great regret we finally had to refrain So all of us went back indoors and we sang from our poor dripping scores but the audience cheered as we persevered and demanded sev'ral encores It was then that we all started sneezing the basses were coughing and wheezing The altos in harm'ny sniffed not very calmly but the audience thought we were teasing The Sopranos then noticed their dresses were shrinking and causing distresses the buttons they popped and the tenors they hopped as those buttons shot right past their faces It seemed that the choir was dissolving and the room started slowly revolving we'd all caught a cough it near carried us off as the fever we'd got was evolving We finally reached the last ditty in that chilly and rain sodden city oh we're told that in Spain it just rains on the plain but here it soaks both plain and pretty Performed by Violin 1: Csongor Veér Violin 2: Anna Fehér Viola: Péter Kondor Cello: Mátyás Ölveti of Budapest Scoring.

String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.845166 Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Arranged by Phil Beaman. Classical,Romantic Period,Sacred,Standards. Score and parts. 8 pages. Phil Beaman #6293531. Published by Phil Beaman (A0.845166). Vom Tode (Death) was composed by the Master, L. van Beethoven. It is the third of the Sechs Lieder (Six Songs), published in 1803, which foreshadowed the Art Songs of the Romantic Era. Originally for Voice and Piano, I have arranged it for Instrumental Quartet. My arrangement stays true to Beethoven's intent to capture the passion of the original text in the music. (The texts are all sacred poems by Gellert.) Without the presence of lyrics I needed to create musical interest and interpretation, so I realized inner voices and polyphony out of his original homophonic accompaniment. I added new shape to individual lines, altered phrasing, elaborated rhythms, and in true Beethoven style added more dynamic markings. The mood and meaning are now stunningly portrayed through music alone. Vom Tode is full of subtle dissonances as it solemnly, but Faithfully, contemplates the end of life. There is a rhythmic ostinato for the unrelenting march to Him.
