String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1489200 Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Arranged by Yoon Jae Lee. 19th Century,Chamber,Classical,Instructional,Romantic Period. 9 pages. Ondine Press #1066051. Published by Ondine Press (A0.1489200). This is a set of parts to Yoon Jae Lee's arrangement of the Adagio from Beethoven’s Pathétique sonata for string quartet. The full score is available separately. The 2nd movement of Beethoven’s Pathétique sonata is very popular with many pianists and this new arrangement makes it accessible for string quartet. Suitable for players of all levels from intermediate to advanced, it is perfect for use in weddings, parties or even as an encore to a concert program. Beethoven made his own string quartet arrangement of the next sonata No. 9 in E Major (Op. 14, No. 1) and in doing so, transposed the work up a half step to F Major. This arrangement follows suit by also transposing the movement up to the more string friendly key of A Major. Unlike many other arrangements already in existence, this arrangement emulates his early string quartet writing style seen in his own Op. 14, No. 1 arrangement as well as the Op. 18 string quartets.Click here to view perusal score.Click here to purchase full score.

String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.587998 By Ernie Field's Orchestra. By Joe Garland. Arranged by David McKeown. Jazz. Score and parts. 20 pages. David McKeown #5210937. Published by David McKeown (A0.587998). In the Mood was a huge hit for the Glenn Miller Orchestra in 1940, but the melody for In the Mood had been around in different versions with different bands for at least a decade before. But it was the Glenn Miller version that grabbed the public’s attention, becoming almost the soundtrack to the Second World War. In the Mood has never lost its appeal and has been recognised as culturally significant by the Library of Congress. In 1951 In the Mood became the first piece of music to be played by a computer. This arrangement of In the Mood is written with accessibility in mind, transposing the original from Ab to G Major. It is arranged for String Quartet; that is for two Violins, Viola and Cello. This arrangement is ideal for smaller groups and combos looking to add this perennial favourite to their repertoire. The solos from the original Glenn Miller recording are transcribed and notated in full, though players may prefer their own improvisations. The single pdf file you download contains both the full score and the individual parts. Performance time is around four minutes. The key, structure and overall feel is faithful to the original by the Glenn Miller Orchestra. There are many more top quality arrangements and compositions by David McKeown for you to browse at http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/publishers/david-mckeown/6203

String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.784347 Composed by Joshua Hauser. Instructional. Score and parts. 110 pages. Slide Ride #5288705. Published by Slide Ride (A0.784347). 1 Octave Scale Studies in 15+ keys for 4-part ensembles of like or mixed instruments If this is your first exposure to these scale studies, you are in for a treat! Donuts, if you make a mistake! The initial incarnation of these studies were written for trombone quartet and we would play them in the Tennessee Tech Trombone Choir with the challenge that whomever made the first mistake had to buy donuts for the rest of the ensemble. Since then I have brought that version to several clinics and warm up sessions. One time before I got to explain the title, a fellow trombone professor said, Oh, I get it! Don’t step in the holes!I only wish I had thought of that myself... Since we have one of the best donut shops in TN here in Cookeville, treating the studio to sugar coated goodies was always my intent. As with those initial exercises, you can vary these as much as you’d like.·     Choose a tempo.·     Choose a dynamic.·     Choose an articulation/style.One way I like to play these is to have one person be the model, playing the entire scale over and over while everyone else plays the fragmented versions. That helps everyone to keep on track and stay in time. Double or triple up the parts for ensemble cohesion with a larger group.Practice one key, gradually speeding it up to improve fluidity, or choose a variation and take it through all keys, playing version A, B, C, or D then skipping to play the same set in a new key.If you want an additional challenge, play them in different octaves or change the key. Play the F Major set in f minor (all forms), different modes, etc. Players really have to be on their toes to remember if they are playing melodic minor in the ascending or descending form! For jazz players, try swinging them in dorian or mixolydian modes. The variations are endless! If you are using these with transposing instruments, 1) is F Major in Concert Pitch, 2) is Bb Major in Concert pitch, and so on. When you reach a scale that is enharmonic for another key (Db/C#, Gb/F#, or Cb/B), they are presented in both keys for each instrument so Trumpets can play in Eb while the Flutes are playing in C# with similar examples for all keys. All Donut Etudes with the same volume number are compatible so you can play them in mixed quartets or large ensembles with one or more instruments/people on part 1 and a different instrument on part 2, etc. Since the quartets are all identical, conductors/coaches can use any of the scores to tell which part should be playing at what time. Once you have played a scale with one set of parts, everyone can rotate to a different part and play the same scales again!Enjoy!

String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.845992 Composed by Ben Fielding and Reuben Morgan. Arranged by Kyle Pudenz. Contemporary,Easter,Praise & Worship,Sacred. Score and parts. 19 pages. ViolinVagabond Music #6696601. Published by ViolinVagabond Music (A0.845992). This is a gig or church service-ready arrangement of Hillsong's Who You Say I Am for string quartet. A great addition to your gig book for weddings or your musical catalog for worship/church bands that feature strings. Included with the quartet score & parts is a slash/chord lead sheet if you wish to perform this with along with guitar, piano or full band. The form follows Hillsong's live version all the way through Chorus 3. It does not include the recap/vamp of the bridge and 4th chorus, but you can loop back on the chart from letter G to letter E if your performance requires a longer rendition. I have also taken the liberty of transposing this from the original key of F# (...oof) into the much more string & band-friendly key of G (and your purchase is all the thanks I need). I've added a few small flourishes, dynamic drops, and general instrumental interest throughout this arrangement, but would still describe this chart as sight-readable for professional players with experience playing pop/rock tunes. It's also well within the technical capability of high school or recreational ensembles with just a bit of practice, but if your violist hasn't ever seen a ghost note printed on a chart before, I would highly recommend taking 10 minutes to look it up...Performance time - approximately 3:20 straight through, longer if you loop back to the bridge like Hillsong Worship's live version. Lots of other exit/entry points can be easily incorporated at most of the rehearsal marks.Questions? Feel free to contact me via my website, www.kylepudenz.com/ or on the 'Insta @theviolinvagabond.

String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1458781 Composed by Greg Woodward. 21st Century,Chamber,Classical. 35 pages. Greg Woodward #1037716. Published by Greg Woodward (A0.1458781). My second string quartet Aqua Vitae is a portrait of the natural water systems that bring clean water from the great mountain that shadows Hobart, Tasmania, through various rivulets back to the river, where it can be purified by evaporation and return to the top of the mountain to begin the cycle again. The opening section uses a blend of folk and old liturgical styles to suggest the purity of the source of the rivulet at the top of the mountain. This then gives way to a section illustrating the growing streams as a magnet for local life – using fragments of bird calls and pizzicato water “plops”, and incorporating a canon of a falling figure alternating and superimposing triplet and semiquaver rhythms representing the turbulence of waterfalls. A sharp turn into the controlled water flow through the city finds urban noises (again using the grace note “flicks” from the birds earlier but in more man-made context) and the eerie sounds of the underground pipes that divert the flow, before the water tumbles into the river and is once again drawn into the sky to be spirited away to the top of the mountain. Thanks to Anita, Emily and Nara for their recording of the piece linked below.Visit my YouTube page for more performances, arrangements and compositions.

String Quartet String Quartet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1298017 Composed by Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck. Arranged by James M. Guthrie. Chamber,Contest,Early Music,Festival,Historic,Instructional. 60 pages. Jmsgu3 #887918. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.1298017). Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck was a Dutch organist and composer who lived from April 1562 to October 16, 1621. He was born and died in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Sweelinck's first published works date from around 1592-94, and he composed a variety of music, including chansons and keyboard music. He was known for his keyboard playing and was a teacher to German composers Samuel Scheidt and Heinrich Scheidemann. Sweelinck's Echo Fantasias are significant for several reasons:Innovative composition: Echo Fantasias were a unique form of composition during Sweelinck's time, blending elements of traditional fantasias with passages dedicated to echo effects. This experimental approach showcased Sweelinck's creativity and willingness to push the boundaries of musical expression. Emphasis on the moment: Unlike Sweelinck's larger fantasias, the construction of Echo Fantasias was less strict, focusing more on the immediate musical experience rather than the overall design. This emphasis on the moment allowed for greater freedom and spontaneity in the performance of these pieces. Stylistic range: Echo Fantasias encompassed a wide range of styles, juxtaposing fantasia-like elements with passages dedicated to echo effects. This stylistic diversity added depth and complexity to Sweelinck's compositions, making them engaging and intriguing for both performers and listeners.

String Quartet String Quartet - Digital Download SKU: A0.1027501 Composed by André Mestre. Contemporary. Score and parts. 25 pages. Andre Mestre #550737. Published by Andre Mestre (A0.1027501). Submitted for 2015 Areon Flutes International Chamber Music Composition Competition Written between 2014 and 2015. Duration: 6'50 Program notes: Corpo Confesso is part of a larger group of pieces, all of them carrying the word corpo (from portuguese, body). Overall, these works seek to synthesize, from the authors' perspective, two of ways in which one can look at acoustic ensembles: both through their sheer physical reality and through the referential corpus we inherit from their literature. Intimate in character, Corpo Confesso invites the listener to closely experience a multitude of instrumental surfaces. These glances are made possible through a plethora of performative techniques that also draw attention to the intense choreography intrinsic to the stage. The piece alternates more or less self contained windows of material, all of which cast a different light in the quartet's expressive potential. Web: Composer: www.corposinstrumentais.com.
