String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1493791 By Edith Piaf. By Edith Piaf and Louis Guglielmi. Arranged by Levi Comstock. 20th Century,Chamber,Film/TV,Jazz,Standards. 7 pages. Viola Fusion #1070454. Published by Viola Fusion (A0.1493791). A lush, dynamic take on this beloved jazz standard, this arrangement gives each instrument a chance to shine. If you like schmaltzy melodies and sweet, tight jazz harmonies; if you get all tingly when a soloist glides into that high note; if you'd rather be sipping cafe au lait from the balcony of your pied-de terre overlooking the Seine, but you can't afford the plain ticket, then this arrangement is the one for you.

String Quartet String Quartet - Digital Download SKU: A0.1092790 Composed by Chevalier de Saint-Georges. Arranged by Artaria Editions. Classical. Score and parts. 54 pages. Artaria Editions #696896. Published by Artaria Editions (A0.1092790). For string quartet Artaria Editions AE619 Edited by Allan Badley 54 pages This is a scholarly edition of a public domain work. The string quartet as a genre was still relatively new in Paris by the time these works were composed. During the 1760s quartets by a number of foreign composers ā€“ Haydn, foremost among them ā€“ had been issued by Parisian publishers, but these works had not exercised a great deal of influence on local composers. Only Gossec, Nicholas Capron and Pierre Vachon published quartets before the appearance of Saint-Georgesā€™s Op.1 and their works ā€“ and, in a broader sense, French instrumental music in general ā€“ seem to have provided his model rather than the quartets of Haydn. The most obvious point of difference is their two-movement structure as opposed to the four-movement cycle that was typically adopted by Viennese composers. While this might be thought to mark the works out as being rather primitive, two-movement pairings were also common in that quintessentially French genre, the symphonie concertante of which Saint-Georges was to be an important early exponent.

String Quartet Cello,Double Bass,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1092472 Composed by Francesco Durante. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Baroque,Instructional,Sacred. Score and parts. 7 pages. Regis Bookshar #696563. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.1092472). Kyrie - by Francesco Durante; String Quartet ā€“ Intermediate ā€“ Digital Download. ā€œKyrieā€, originally written for a four-part vocal ensemble by Francesco Durante, has now been transcribed, edited and arranged by Regis Bookshar, for a String Quartet, consisting of 1 Violin, 1 Viola, 1 Violoncello and 1 Double Bass. It would be a welcomed addition to any music library. This short composition, which lasts less than two minutes, will provide students with the opportunity to continue to develop good intonation because many of the phrases cadence on a unison note. This selection could be performed for concerts, recitals and church services. It is suitable for high school and college students but professional musicians would also enjoy playing this selection. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (7 pages). This selection is one of the many arrangements from the Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensembleā€™s extensive music library which are being made available for the first time. We have performed the Trumpet Quartet version of this composition for many church services, especially funerals, when we were asked to supply something more somber and introspective rather than the louder, more festive music which many people come to expect from a Trumpet Ensemble. Francesco Durante was an Italian composer who was born on March 31, 1684 at Frattamaggiore, in the Kingdom of Naples. At an early age he entered the Conservatorio dei poveri di Gesu Cristo, in Naples, where he received lessons from Gaetano Greco. Later he became a pupil of Alessandro Scarlatti at the Conservatorio di Santā€™Onofrio. He is said to have succeeded Scarlatti in 1725 at Santā€™Onofrio and to have remained there until 1742, when he succeeded Nicola Porpora as head of the Conservatorio di Santa Maria de Loreto, also in Naples. He held this post for thirteen years, until his death on September 30, 1755. His fame as a teacher was considerable, and, unlike his Neapolitan contemporaries, who attracted international notice with their operas, Francesco Durante achieved recognition through his church music, along with some vocal chamber and instrumental works. His concern was not quantity. A complete collection of Duranteā€™s works, consisting almost exclusively of sacred music, was presented by Gaspare Selveggi, a Neapolitan art collector and music theorist, to the Bibliotheque Nationale in Paris. The imperial library of Vienna also preserves a valuable collection of Duranteā€™s manuscripts. The fact that Durante never composed for the stage brought him an exaggerated reputation as a composer of sacred music. He was considered one of the best church composers of his style and period. In his masses, requiems, litanies and Lamentations, he could provide strong expressive moments, as he does in this ā€œKyrieā€. In addition to this arrangement for a String Quartet, Regis Bookshar has also made other arrangements of this selection. There are Quartets readily available for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. Please take the time to look for other versions of this composition. You may find something else that may also suit your needs. I would also encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar, as well, as there are numerous arrangements in a variety of styles, also available for purchase. You may find something else which might interest you. Please continue to check periodically because new arrangements are being added as often as possible. Iā€™m certain that this beautiful arrangement of Francesco Duranteā€™s ā€œKyrieā€ will continue to entertain both performers and audiences alike for years to come.

String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.797828 By Elton John. By Elton John. Arranged by Derek Hasted. Pop,Rock. 16 pages. Derek Hasted #6498495. Published by Derek Hasted (A0.797828). CAN YOU FEEL THE LOVE TONIGHT? STRING QUARTET/STRING ENSEMBLEDerek Hasted writes I first arranged this lovely tune for The Hampshire Guitar Orchestra, and my arrangement here produces the same big sound from an intermediate string quartet, but using the sustain and wider pitch range to make the piece really sing. School teachers will find this is an ideal piece for an end of semester concert, and adult quartets will find it makes a restful and easy-to-play interlude piece in a full-length concert. Being so well-known, this will be an audience pleaser! Most of the instruments stay in the low positions throughout the piece.I like to think that the viola player gets a rather fun-to-play line here, and the 'cello part begins with a homage to Bach's Air on the G String, but the audience will probably never know...My arrangement comprises two verses and a Coda, but either verse could be repeated to make an even longer performance piece. There are suggested dynamics which make the piece come alive.(I have also published a version for guitar quartet)I hope you enjoy playing this piece!

String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1467042 Composed by English Traditional Song. Arranged by Nat Brookes. Classical,Folk,Pop. 8 pages. Nat Brookes #1045603. Published by Nat Brookes (A0.1467042). Scarborough Fair Arranged by Nat Brookes for String Quartet POP PADThis arrangement takes the tune of Scarborough Fair and has some fun with it. The arrangement starts with a very tasteful section where the tune is in Violin I and the other instruments support it with gently moving accompaniment. The second section is more animated and more liberal with the tune, featuring pizzicato in the Vioilin II, Viola and Cello parts and punctuated halfway through by an ostentatious arpegiated figure. The third section is a little more harmonically adventurous, the intensity of which can be tempered by reducing the volume in the accompanying parts. Lastly, the ending recapitulates the last phrase of the tune in a busy but harmonically and rhythmically simple manor bringing the peice to a definate full stop. This arrangement is rather versatile and could easily be addapted for more formal settings like Weddings. For example, you could simply ignore the pizzicato instruction and bow the central section, whilst the 1st Violin could play the unadorned version of the tune from the A section. In fact the accompaniment of the A section is so generously rich with subtle contrapuntal content, that a String Quartet could easily repeat it whilst varying the dynamics to good effect.Included: Score and set of parts. Each part is a single page longRehearsal marks throughout. You can help me to continue arranging pop songs by reviewing my arrangements (click the button below) and liking Pop Pad on Facebook.Find more great arrangements here: Sheet Music Plus ($) Sheet Music Direct (£)Thanks,Nat

String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1249722 By Various. By Adam Small, Diamonte Harper, Jacob Uchorczak, Luis Demetrio Molina, Luis Traconis Molina, Mich Hansen, Michael Pollack, Mitch Hansen, Mitchell Hansen, Norman Gimbel, Pablo Rosas Rodriguez, Pablo Ruiz, Quavious Marshall, Randall Hammers, Tia Scola, and etc. Arranged by Des McNutty. Film/TV,Jazz,Latin. 15 pages. Des Press #844113. Published by Des Press (A0.1249722). Sway With Me was written for Mexican singer Pedro Infante but first recorded in 1953 as an instrumental Cha-Cha-Cha ĀæQuiĆ©n serĆ”? (Who Will Be?) by its Mexican composers Luis Demetrio and Pablo BeltrĆ”n Ruiz. Infante sang it in the film School for Tramps (1954). The version on which this arrangement is based was recorded by Dean Martin and the Dick Stabile Orchestra in 1954, with new lyrics in English completely rewritten by Norman Gimbel from the rather melancholy original in Spanish. Sway With Me has remained popular and been subsequently recorded by numerous artists in several styles. This arrangement for string quartet is a relatively straight-forward idiomatic transcription in the same tonality as the original recording, so you could even play along with it for fun. The level is on the easier side of ā€œadvancedā€; quickly rehearsed by professional quartets and an accessible challenge for experienced students.Enjoy!

String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1396167 Composed by Derek Hasted. Arranged by Derek Hasted. Baroque,Children,Comedy,Renaissance. 16 pages. Derek Hasted #979549. Published by Derek Hasted (A0.1396167). FANTASIA UPON A CABBAGE - STRING QUARTETFor School Music Teachers and for adults with a sense of the ridiculous...Derek Hasted writes This really does need a bit of explanation. Well, more than a bit!As a Music Teacher I often have to teach beginners how to read music, and of course the seven names of the musical notes can be made to spell words. Like CABBAGE.This, then, is a little piece of kitchen-based nonsense, cooking up a rather unappetising dish comprising cabbage, egg, beef and a lot, lot more cabbage. Iā€™ve arranged it (if that is the word) to include nods to the renaissance and baroque periods. The scores contain mark-ups to show where a particular player has an item of food in their motif. As well as EGG, youā€™ll find some GEG (thatā€™s scrambled egg) and a BAD EGG (and some sad music). Youā€™ll also find that the recipe includes a helping or two of BEEF.Bach comes in for a special mention, as thereā€™s a fugue-like section where the subject comes in a fifth away from the starting key (which Iā€™ve loosely interpreted as being a recipe in a foreign language) and thereā€™s some stretti (well, just about) at the end, when the fugue subjects overlap a tiny, tiny amount. And we also pay homage to the pedal section of an organ, where the CABBAGE subject comes in down low on the 'cello at half the speed of the original. The final, jazzy, chord at the end contains seven notes that collectively spell CABBAGE.So there are lots of teaching points, lots of things to ask the audience to listen out for, and a lot of mischief in a compact piece. The musical refrain CABBAGE is not the greatest motif to work with, but on reflection, when you have this much cabbage, itā€™s much better to listen to it than have to eat it...I hope you enjoy playing this piece! This is one of a large and growing range of accessible ensembles from experienced arranger Derek Hasted, and is supplied as full score and parts. Derek's website at www.derek-hasted.co.uk/smp lists all his arrangements by title and by number of instruments, with links to soundclips and sample score.
