This arrangement for string quartet retains the original key of G, well suited to string instruments. Although the first violin has much of the melody there are some attractive lines for the other parts. This elegant little song, which has always been a favourite of mine, describes a graceful elderly lady walking carefully round her neighbourhood, and reminds me of the style of a gavotte.
