String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1494808 By Noah Kahan. By Noah Kahan. Arranged by Levi Comstock. Christmas,Country,Folk,Pop,Singer/Songwriter. 18 pages. Viola Fusion #1067949. Published by Viola Fusion (A0.1494808). Do you love Vermont? Do peoples mom's tend not to remember you? Are you usually the one to get the holiday party started before your friends have even arrived home?If so, or if you just can't get this sticky tune out of your head, this is probably definitely an arrangement you should add to your quartet's playlist. With a driving rhythm and snappy melody that seem destined to be fiddled, this arrangement let's everybody groove and shine in turns. It's the kind of chart you want to throw in at the end of a long gig, even though you're technically off the clock, just because you're having so much fun and don't want to stop. This song took Noah Kahan from talented musician only hipsters have heard of to Grammy Nominated artist. Could it do the same for you? Only one way to find out...

String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1316164 By Elton John. By Bernie Taupin and Elton John. Arranged by Greg Woodward. Jazz,Pop,R & B,Rock,Singer/Songwriter. 16 pages. Greg Woodward #904901. Published by Greg Woodward (A0.1316164). This arrangement of Elton John's 1973 classic Bennie and the Jets leans heavily into the dragging groove of the song that made it so popular on the R&B charts at the time. The first two verses stick largely to the original whilst sharing the melody amongst all players, but the extended middle section of the song is replaced by an alternative section that develops the ideas of the verse and chorus, before a quick reprise of a fragment of the verse melody played wistfully on the cello to end.

String Quartet String Quartet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.749231 By David Cook. By Diane Eve Warren and Diane Warren. Arranged by HELEN MARPLE-HORVAT. Rock. Score and parts. 19 pages. Helen Marple-Horvat #5801059. Published by Helen Marple-Horvat (A0.749231). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0gGRv9QE8g‘Don’t want to miss a thing’, recorded by Aerosmith, and written by Diane Warren is a hugely popular rock ballad that was a number one hit in the USA. Selling over a million copies in the UK, it reached number four in the UK singles chart. Always a favourite for weddings, Capriccio Quartet recorded it for their repertoire, and it is a song that easily lends itself to a string arrangement.I chose to stick to the original key of D, a great key for string players. At times I have thickened the texture by using double stopping. In this arrangement I have tried to use an open string wherever possible. In some cases there are bare fifths. If you prefer you can choose one of the notes to play instead, especially if this note is doubled in another part. I have also put in some bowing, but the endgame is to feel comfortable, so please feel free to change it and alter the slurring if it makes it easier. I have given the cellist some solos, but everyone in the quartet has some time in the sun in this arrangement. And   don’t be afraid to use open strings in this piece, especially in the semi- quavers. They sound great!I am aiming this quartet at the professional market, for weddings and other events, but I am hopeful that younger players will also have the courage to try it, even if the intention is not to ever perform it but to have some fun! Let me hear any recordings you make. I can be reached very easily on Facebook and love to get feedback from people who buy my arrangements. My Youtube Channel has many of my arrangements for String Quartet, most recorded by Capriccio Quartet, and all but two are available as Sheet Music Plus products. String Quartet String Quartet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.512057 Arranged by Alison Gillies. Contemporary. Score and parts. 14 pages. Quartetpad.com #3559097. Published by quartetpad.com (A0.512057). Heart And Soul by Frank Loesser, arranged for string quartet. You may know it best as the tune Tom Hanks plays on the big piano in the film 'Big', or as the 'chopsticks' melody that you used to play over and over again as a kid, but the original song is well worth a listen! Romantic and sweet, it's a perfect selection for a wedding and also makes a fun piece for receptions or functions. This arrangement is in F major and has interest for all players.

String Quartet String Quartet - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.845973 By Miley Cyrus. By Henry Walter, Lukasz Gottwald, Maureen McDonald, Sacha Skarbek, and Stephan Richard Moccio. Arranged by Kyle Pudenz. Contemporary,Pop. Score and parts. 34 pages. ViolinVagabond Music #5310843. Published by ViolinVagabond Music (A0.845973). Why settle for a bland transcription of Hannah Montana when you can have an action-packed, thrill-filled arrangement that's ALMOST as crazy as Miley Cyrus!? (almost)You've heard the song. You've seen the video. Whether or not you're a Miley super fan, you get the hype and that's why you're here. So take that hype to the next level with a chart that will make your audience go what on earth just happened? the same way Miley does on at least a bi-annual basis. By the way, I'll tell you what just happened: your quartet just came in like a wrecking ball, and smashed every archaic stereotype about classical string players to PIECES!!Gone are the days of strings not being able to feel the groove. Silenced are the cynics who once called us boring and one-dimensional. A new era is upon us, where violins, violas, & cellos can get up, get out, and rock the faces off of the proletariat right alongside our guitar slinging, drumstick twirling brethren! And this chart is just what you need to usher in this oh so bright future for all who rosin the bow:Right from the start, this arrangement takes a unique spin on Miley's pop smash, with a lopsided groove that will have your listeners searching frantically for a downbeat. Their urges will finally be satisfied when the melody takes us back to that oh-so-familiar feeling of 4/4 security... but don't get too comfortable, because when that chorus drops you'd better hold on to your hats. That's right, the train is leaving the station for double-time town! Along this musical journey, you may also encounter glimpses of reggae, jazz, & bluegrass, culminating in a race to the finish that will wre-e-eck any musician who didn't come ready to hang. Oh, and just for funsies I threw in that classic showbiz' moment where the cellist steals the melody, so feel free to ham that up as much as possible, cello players! This arrangement also makes use of modern extended string techniques in order to create rhythmic grooves without the need for additional instruments, including chopping and strum bowing. If you are unfamiliar with these concepts, various resources exist all over the internet to aid you in your quest towards having better time. I recommend this series, for example: https://youtu.be/kfX3kxjC93sPerformance time - 4:20... and if that doesn't make Miley Cyrus proud I don't know what will.Questions? Feel free to contact me via my website, www.kylepudenz.com/ or on the 'Insta @theviolinvagabond

String Quartet String Quartet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.749203 Composed by Des'ree Weekes and Tim Attack. Arranged by HELEN MARPLE-HORVAT. Contemporary. Score and parts. 17 pages. Helen Marple-Horvat #3548391. Published by Helen Marple-Horvat (A0.749203). ‘Kissing You’ was written for the 1996 film Romeo and Juliet by Des’ree Weekes and Tim Atack, with the gorgeous string arrangements by Craig Armstrong. It is a much loved song, very well received by the critics and public alike, and hugely popular at weddings. As well as this arrangement for singer and string quartet/string orchestra, I also have an arrangement for string quartet without the singer, where the first violinist has the vocal line. The Quartet version can be found on my 'Skinny Black Dogs' Youtube Channel by typing in 'Romeo and Juliet, Kissing You.'  The string parts in this version are almost identical to the quartet version but require fewer moments of double stopping as the singer carries the tune. The parts are not difficult to play, and the key is easy for strings. My bowing is just a guide, and less experienced players can easily change the bow more often. There is a tricky part for cello at Bar 28, but with a little help from a good teacher, I’m sure that it is not impossible. The cellist in my recording plays it very lightly, and it could also be done in thumb position, played an octave lower, or simplified. It is important to stick to a strict tempo so that the singer can pull against the barline. Take a look at my Quartet version on Youtube, but bear in mind that this one is a lot easier for the first violin.

String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin,Voice - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.749202 By Celine Dion. By Harry Warren. Arranged by HELEN MARPLE-HORVAT. Oldies. Score and parts. 21 pages. Helen Marple-Horvat #3539949. Published by Helen Marple-Horvat (A0.749202). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRqJrKjpk0o ‘At Last’ was composed by Mack Gordon and Harry Warren for the musical ‘Sun Valley Serenade’ in 1941. It was recorded by Glenn Miller and his orchestra, becoming a chart hit in 1942, and in 1960 by Etta James, who was subsequently inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. The song is a frequent wedding favourite for quartets. I also have a version for string quartet without a vocalist listed on this site, which is very similar, but entails more double stopping for the players. I am also planning to do several arrangements of this wonderful classic, including a version with a simplified first violin part. This version is for a professional quartet, as the opening is tricky for the first violin. However, most of the double stopping includes open strings for one of the notes. This is a great opportunity for the singer to try her improvisational skills, so I have taken the vocal line from the original, with a few tweaks here and there. This is not set in stone however, and our recording shows my daughter embellishing the vocal line. Nevertheless, the quartet parts are almost identical to the score I am uploading. As I am classically trained, it was quite difficult, at first, for me to stick to the beat and not to try to follow the singer when accompanying on the piano!  It’s important to remember to keep the quartet in rock solid time so that she can feel free to pull the lines away from the main pulse sometimes. Little slides up to notes suit the style well too. Look out for the upcoming simpler version if this one feels a bit daunting and exposed! Have fun and post me any recordings. I can be found on Facebook very easily.
