String quartet or string orchestra arrangement of the famous South American tune, El Condor Pasa. Famously adapted by Simon and Garfunkel with the words I'd rather be a hammer than a nail the origins of this melody are traced back to the Peruvian Andes. It was also used by the composer Daniel Alomía Robles in a Zarzuela in 1913.  Nowadays the song is played by Andean pipe flute ensembles in tourist spots all over the world.
