LISTENABILITY I have performed thousands of weddings and special events. I make it a goal for the music to carry as well as possible through loud and large space situations.

Amazing Grace, arranged for String Quartet by Tim Crooks from the traditional spiritual. This arrangement is loosely based on the version sung by Aretha Franklin, and starts with two hushed verses in 4/4, then modulates up a tone and into 9/8, for two more verses with a triplet-feel quaver accompaniment. The ending can be big, or quiet, as required. This is a great selection for groups developing in compound time, and suitable for approx ABRSM grade 5 (intermediate) level and above. This is a moving arrangement of the beautiful Easter spiritual. The last verse is faster, brighter, and celebratory. Mashed into the main tune are snippets of O Sacred Head Now Wounded and Christ the Lord Is Risen Today.  This arrangement would work for any church service as a prelude, postlude, offertory, Communion incidental music, etc., but is obviously more meaningful at Easter.  It runds a little under four minutes, but could be shortened easily.
