Kissing You, a song originally written for a scene in Baz Luhrmann's feature film Romeo + Juliet where the title characters meet each other at a ball, was released both on the film's soundtrack and on the third studio album of its singer Des'Ree. This beautiful pared-down ballad (whose instrumentation features only the vocals, a pianist, and strings) earned Des'Ree critical acclaim, with many praising the emotional depth the song brought to the movie. Ever since its release, Kissing You has become a fan favorite and a very popular choice for weddings. This Cellobat arrangement for string quartet captures the beauty of the original, with many layers of lush (and sometimes unexpected) harmonies, a full range of dynamic intensity, the passionate melodic vocal line in the first violin, and the ethereal piano line in violin 2.
