The music of this popular song has been specially arranged to be suitable for Intermediate Level performers and for use as instructional repertoire. The melody is shared between the Violin 1, Violin 2 and Viola 1 / Violin 3 parts. This arrangement is flexible in that it can be used for an Intermediate Level Quartet, an Intermediate Level Ensemble or a mixed-level ensemble that involves both Intermediate and Elementary Level performers. Optional Elementary Level parts are included for Violin, Viola and Cello. The Double Bass part is optional, but its inclusion is preferable in the case of a larger ensemble. It is suitable for Elementary Level performers. The Cello 2 part can be used instead of or in addition to the Double Bass part in an ensemble situation. All optional parts use only 4 pitches: E, A, D and G. The Violin 4 part only requires the use of the 1st finger for E and A and open strings for D and G.
