Beethoven's Romance No. 1 in G major for violin and orchestra op. 40 (c. 1801) was transposed in C major, arranged in the new key and appropriate tempo, and expanded to form a rondo Finale fit for his unfinished Concerto in C major, of which only about a half of a clean copy of the first movement survived as WoO 5 (1791-1792). Also, a newly composed solo cadenza was now inserted. Almost surely, the Romance No. 2 in F major op. 50 (c. 1791?) was intended as the slow movement of the Concerto (it has virtually the same scoring as WoO 5, the manuscript bears no title, and there is a thematic relation to WoO 5). The Romance No. 1 in G major was probably intended as a replacement or alternate slow movement, but it is his only composition relatable to the Concerto fragment, so I adapted it as conjecture Finale for a complete performing version of the Concerto.

Concerto in C Major – Vivaldi This is an expanded version of the Vivaldi Concerto in C Major from the original for string trio/quartet and lute/mandolin.  Most versions available today utilize a chamber orchestra.  This version, expands that to include woodwinds and additional string solo parts, adding a new dimension of color to this charming work. At approximately 9 minutes and 31 seconds, this makes a lovely interlude for your audience.  It also pairs well with the Vivaldi Concerto in D Major for Lute/Mandolin, also in this expanded format. (My arrangement available on this web site.) Enhanced guitar part with suggested fingerings including five finger technique for right hand. This can be played with traditional four finger RH technique by leaving out the notes played by the c or little finger of the right hand.Additional instruments are Cello solo, Double Bass solo, Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, and Bassoon.  This is a revised version from the previous with enhanced fingers for guitar and a variety of improvements to the orchestration.

This piano concerto (concertino) by Jean Baptiste Vanhal (1739-1813) is a very charming and lively 'first concerto' for late intermediate pianists as the technical difficulty of the solo part is more or less that of the Mozart Sonata in C (KV545). The key is C major. It has three movements, Allegro moderato, Andante en Finale, which is a theme with 3 variations.The 'orchestra' consists of a viola and a violoncello part. A great student concerto, or a lively piece of chamber music. Total 32 pages, the complete score is provided as well as separate parts for the piano, viola and cello parts. This edition is created from the manuscript version of the piece. The composer provided very few performance markings, all markings in the score were given by the composer.

This arrangement consists of two parts which can be played either seperately, or consecutively: the famous “Air On The G String� (BWV 1068, as in the 1871 arrangement by August Wilhemj), inspired by Jaques Loussier´s “Play Bach�- version, and the fugue c-minor from the Well-Tempered Piano (BWV 847), inspired by the magnificent Turtle Island String Quartet´s incomparable swinging rendition (hence the video link). There are several options of playing this arrangement: “Air� has two parts which can be repeated – thus, violin1 and cello can distribute the theme. Of course, these repetitions are optional. If you want to play the Air only – there is an optional ending in bar 22. If you want to play only the fugue – start from bar 23 (intro), or from bar 30 (theme). Or you choose to play Air and fugue consecutively. The arrangement works great either ways ;-). Piano voice is written out. However, there are also chord symbols for your own voicings. Minimal instrumentation: piano trio (violin1, cello, piano). Comes with full score and all individual parts. Optional voices for violin 2 and bass, clarinet Bb, guitar, and drums included.
