Composed by Joseph White. Arranged by Robert Debbaut. Classical,Contest,Festival,Latin,Multicultural,Romantic Period,World. Score and parts. 66 pages. ROBERT DEBBAUT #6363105. Published by ROBERT DEBBAUT (A0.939439).

The talents of Afro-Cuban violinist Joseph White were recognized by the American pianist and composer Louis Moreau Gottschalk (1829-1869) who had performed with him on an early recital. Gottschalk raised money so he could go to Paris and study with Jean-Delphin Alard (1815-1888), one of the great violinists of his day. White won the Paris Conservatory’s Premier Prix in 1856 and received high accolades from such musical giants as Auber, Berlioz, Gounod, Rossini, and Saint-Saëns, as well as German violin virtuosi Ferdinand David and Joseph Joachim. He was a major force in the cultural life of Paris as well as Europe for the next twenty years, performing on his Stradivarius violin nicknamed The Swansong. La Bella Cubana was among the original compositions s he performed on his recitals.  This volume includes the new arrangement for chamber orchestra, the original transcribed score for two violins and piano, as well as extensive biographical and background information.  For those seeking more information about the greatest violinist of whom you have NEVER heard, this is a great starting point.  Adapted from a published lead sheet, this traditional carol is adapted for young string orchestra.  If you purchase the score, please write to the arranger at debbaut@gmail.com, subject White LBC and I will send you a copy of the parts for $30 via Venmo or personal check.

Composed by Music by Ofer Ben-Amots, Story by Eugene Ionesco. Contemporary. Score and parts. 92 pages. The Composer's Own Press #4605319. Published by The Composer's Own Press (A0.944028).

COMPOSER’S NOTE:

Story Nr. 2 for chamber ensemble and a narrator, was written as a commission for the 1983 Children's Music Festival in St. Omer, France. Since its inception, the work has been widely performed in French, German and English. The narrative of Story Nr. 2 is a little known children's story by the great French author and playwright Eugene Ionesco (1912 – 1994). The story is about play on words. Little Josette has a conversation with her father who teaches her the new meaning of words: A Telephone is called Cheese, a Cheese is a Music Box, the Music Box is called a Rug and so on. The meanings become funnier and stranger ad absurdum. Then Josette and her father combine the words into sentences and practice the new mismatched names and objects.

The characters participating in the story beside of Josette and her father are Josette's pretty mother and the maid  Jacqueline. Each of the characters has its own musical theme and color represented by distinguished instrumentation: Jossette's theme is played by the flute, the father is represented by the trumpet and trombone, the pretty mother by the oboe and Jacqueline by the xylophone and piano. The new orchestral version which includes the string section was written in 1990.

Performance material by rental only! For demo recording, questions, or any additional information please e-mail Ofer Ben-Amots at: thecomposerspress@gmail.com

Concertino for violin and chamber orchestra. Composed by Christian Jost. This edition: piano reduction with solo part. Violin Library. Downloadable, Piano reduction with solo part. Duration 18 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q47444. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q47444).

Christian Jost, Mai 2011

Composed by Anton Emil Titl (1809 - 1882 ). Arranged by James Strauss. Romantic Period. Score and parts. 30 pages. James Strauss #5873421. Published by James Strauss (A0.1035228).

Antonín Emil Titl

Was born October 2, 1809 in Pernstein, and died in January 21, 1882 in Vienna was an Austrian composer. Titl had been the military bandmaster in Prague since 1835. In 1840 he was hired as the successor of Heinrich Proch to the theater in Josefstadt, where he stayed until 1846. From 1850 until his retirement in 1870 he worked at the Burgtheater as Kapellmeister. As a composer, Titl created numerous songs and stage music for both of the above theaters. His greatest success was the Singspiel Der Zauberschleier by Franz Xaver Told, which contained the song A Wirtsg'schäft, which was extremely popular at the time, is really not bad.In 1898 the Titlgasse in Vienna-Hietzing was named after him.

Titl's Serenade was composed for flute and horn with orchestra or piano accompaniment. With a lilting Bel Canto style in 12/8, its lyric melody features passages of filigree work that will excite and challenge the musician's technical as well as expressive capabilities. The piece is ideal for contest or recital for the intermediate player. This edition for flute, horn and orchestra is based in 2 sources , a set or parts published in 1896 by the French publisher E. GALLET plate n. G.5688 and a manuscript of the parts from Austrian National Library and has been carefully arranged and edited by James Strauss. All the discrepancies between the sources were corrected and for the very first time in a Full Score format.

Composed by Jose Mauricio Nunes Garcia. Arranged by Steven Nunes. 19th Century,Classical. 60 pages. Nagamon Publications #978408. Published by Nagamon Publications (A0.1394923).

José Maurício Nunes Garcia (September 20, 1767 – April 18, 1830) was a Brazilian classical composer, one of the greatest exponents of Classicism in the Americas.
Born in Rio de Janeiro, son of two bi-racial parents, Nunes Garcia lost his father at an early age. His mother perceived that her son had an inclination for becoming a musician and, for this reason, improved her work to allow him to continue his musical studies.
Nunes Garcia became a priest and, when King John VI of Portugal came to Rio de Janeiro with his 15,000 people, Nunes Garcia was appointed Master of the Royal Chapel. He sang and played the harpsichord, performing his compositions as well as those of other composers such as Domenico Cimarosa and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. He was a very prestigious musician in the royal court of John VI.
His musical style was strongly influenced by Viennese composers of the period, such as Mozart and Haydn.

This edition has been prepared from the composer's manuscript, and the PDF contains the Full Score and a full set of parts.  Please note that the string parts have been formatted for larger paper.
