Au Moment… is for improviser(s) and chamber orchestra and was a commissioned from Gérard and Nicole Gouye for the multi-instrumental Resonance Duo. The work is dedicated to the conductor, Paul Méfano. The duration is about 20'. The part of the improviser(s) is entirely improvised while the orchestra plays from a written score which includes an open architecture that can be altered to create a different performing and listening experience each time. Any instrument may be used by the soloist(s). For the premiere of this piece, Resonance Duo played the following instruments: Drake Mabry – oboe with a small miniature saxophone mouthpiece, a wooden soprano saxophone and soprano to contrabass bamboo clarinets. Catherine Schneider played piano both on the keyboard and inside along with percussion instruments from Africa and the Middle East. The work, in three movements was premiered by Resonance Duo with the Ensemble 2e2m conducted by Paul Méfano at the Pompidou Center in Paris on January 29, 1996.

     Composed in an overture style, the piece begins with a powerful introductory statement pedaling onBb major. After the introduction, the second theme is introduced by the violin 1 section. The B sectionbegins at Rehearsal B, featuring a light, legato approach. The piece picks back up at Rehearsal C with another rousing statement of the first theme, and propels itself to a thrilling close with a restatement of the introduction.

The chamber music works are among Hindemith's most successful instrumental works of the 1920s. At the world premiere of Chamber Music No. 1, the audience even demanded a repetition of the third and fourth movements. But the title is misleading: The individual pieces rather bear concertante and soloistic markings than bow to chamber music traditions. Chamber Music No. 6 focuses on the viola d'amore which, despite its virtuoso handling, is challenged by a few individual instruments separated from the orchestral setting. The scores are based on Volume IV/3 (PHA 403) of the Hindemith Complete Edition edited by Giselher Schubert.

Written for the broadcaster Frankfurter Sender, the work took then virulent music recording and broadcasting problems on the radio into account in its instrumentation for chamber music and the elaboration of the musical setting. An arrangement of Anton Bruckner's eponymous miniature for solo Piano, written for Emma Thanner, a piano pupil of his, in 1863. Lasting roughly 3-4 minutes (depending on Tempo taken), and written for a small ensemble of Strings, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon and 2 Horns, this piece fits easily as an interlude into a concert programme.
