Here is a wonderful duet by Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber written out for cello solo. It will be helpful to know your Ab Major scale up to at least 2 octaves. This is the easier version of the song where notes only go up to the high Eb on the a string. If you would like a more challenging version I encourage you to check it out! I purposely wrote this out in the key of the recording so I encourage you to play along with the track. I mainly stuck with the primary melody line here. The last few measures are there because they follow the song, but it is mostly just improvised notes by Ariana in the recording. Hope you enjoy learning this lovely duet!

This is a Sonata for Solo Cello in one movement. The idea for this piece was first shown to me in a dream. When I woke up I played the passage with the long chordal slurs and crescendo and had a feeling of sadness that turned into into the rest of the piece. It is in a modified sonata allegro form because that is what I was most familiar with in my student days. I have revised it once since then and it has become one of my most popular pieces.

This fun piece is loosely based on a popular Russian folk polka. In 1853 Charles Czerny took this polka tune and created a piano etude as part of his set Amusement des Juenes Amateurs. I have taken some of his themes and adapted and arranged them for instrumental solo. I have assembled them into a Rondo form: Intro-A-B-A-C-A-D-A-Coda.  
It is an etude (study) to sharpen your playing of scales, arpeggios, melodic interval leaps, and various articulations. But it doesn't at all sound like an exercise because of the playful nature of the polka. This dramatic piece shows your technical accomplishments while delivering a crowd pleasing tune with great flourish.
I have marked it as Intermediate in difficulty as a general average. The notes and rhythms are Easy, the quick Tempo makes it Early Intermediate, and the range which is a half step beyond a full 2 octaves makes it Advanced Intermediate for some instruments. Has double stops in the intro and coda.

This is based on my vocal duo on the poem by Jacques Prévert. It relates how the soldier took leave, left his army cap in the cage and went out with the bird (of freedom) on his head. I made this into an easier version so that beginners can play all the notes since it is written mainly in first position. It would be good for the player to feel comfortable with a G major scale.
