This piece was written by Antonis to explore the timbre of the Flute and to utilise the relatively high register of the flute for harmony and counterpoint. There are many compositional techniques epmloyed such as immitation, use of the modes and chromatic alteration, but the overall style of the piece is that of a choral, intended to be close to the serene style of Palestrina, or Josquin Des Prez. This piece is to be played as if singing and the coordination of the 3 performers will be one of the challenges but also an interesting part of playing this piece. It could be played by a tutor and 2 pupils alternating the parts for extra practice benefits. If the students are experienced solo performers it could be also perfrormed prima vista to practice counting the pauses and re-entrances of the voices while the other players continue to play.
