Regis Bookshar #891647. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.1302049). Canon in D - Johann Pachelbel - Flute Trio, Keyboatd - Advanced/Intermediate - Digital Download.Johann Pachelbel's celebrated Canon in D is perhaps the most famous canon ever written. A canon is a polyphonic device in which several voices play the same music, entering in sequence. Pachelbel's Canon in D was originally scored for three violins arranged in canon, accompanied by a basso continuo playing an ostinato pattern, repeating the same harmonic progression throughout the entire somposition.Regis Bookshar has now arranged this composition for a Flute Trio which play the melody in canon and a Keyboard instrument, either a Piano or Organ, which plays the ostinato pattern. This arrangement is suitable for high school and college students and is perfect for concerts, recitals and church services, especially for weddings, but could be performed for any occasion. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (22 pages). This version of Pachelbel's Canon in D is written in the key of D Major, as was the original version. However, another version, transposed to the key of Bb Major, to make it a little easier for some younger performers, especially brass and woodwind players, is also available, if you would prefer. Also available are other versions of this well-known Canon in D for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. Please take the time to compare the different versions to find the version (or versions) which best suits your needs. Also, please feel free to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar as there are numerous selections in a variety of styles also available for purchase. You may find something else which might interest you. Please continue to check back periodically beause new arrangements are being added as often as possible. Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Trio Flute - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.971663 Composed by Jeffrey Hoover. 20th Century,Contemporary. 49 pages. Musicart Publications #5992083. Published by Musicart Publications (A0.971663). Beyond the Sky.  Flute trio (1st doubling piccolo and 3rd doubling alto flute).  Duration, 13 minutes.1. Black Hole (3 min. 45 sec.)2. A Crescent Moon, 1969 (3 min. 45 sec.)3. SETI Ratio (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) (2 min.)4. Quantum Waltz (3 min. 30 sec.)The score and parts in this edition are arranged to be printed double-sided, with correct page turns.Beyond the Sky is a celebration of space exploration and imagination. It is in many respects a symphonic work for flute trio, with the characteristics and order of the four movements resembling the structure of a classical symphony. As a child during the Space Race, I was immensely interested in both terrestrial- and extraterrestrial-exploration, and as I composed this music a half-century later it made the most sense to set the musical ideas in this manner. In the first movement, Black Hole, two contrasting themes are presented and immediately developed: a theme of polyphonic gestures, with a contrasting second theme of chordal-textured music. The characteristic and somewhat liquid sound of the flute trio in the second theme is especially evident. The static and evolving blocks of music represent the gravitational collection of matter by a black hole. The second movement, A Crescent Moon, 1969, celebrates astronaut Neil Armstrong's moonwalk in July 1969. This slow, lyrical movement possesses a nocturnal quality while features the alto flute as a solo instrument. The third movement, SETI Radio (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence), is a slow through-composed scherzo. With piccolo, a high tessitura of the flute trio range is heard. The fourth movement is a dynamic Rondo Variations form. Quantum Waltz is just that, a small waltz where the music is developed with a recurring first section, alternating between new material.ā€“ Jeffrey HooverJeffrey Hoover's compositions- music ranging from soloist to symphony orchestra -have received recognition through the Universal Edition/SMP Press Contemporary Composition Award, the prestigious Trieste prize, the international Luigi Russolo competition, awards from Mu Phi Epsilon, the Lancaster Fine Arts Festival, grants, publications fellowships and more than 20 commissions. Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Trio Flute - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.913255 Composed by Leontovych. Arranged by L. McKinlay. Christian,Christmas,Contemporary,Folk,Standards. 6 pages. L McKinlay #3405329. Published by L McKinlay (A0.913255). An easy and fun flute trio using a popular Christmas carol melody. Originally Ukrainian folk tune called Shchedryk, in 1914 Leontovych arranged the tune and Wilhousky wrote the lyrics which begin Hark how the bells. All three parts are simple enough to be enjoyed by fairly new learners. Flute 3 uses only one octave D-D. Rhythms are kept simple in all parts. This could be a fun introduction to ensemble playing for three young players. It would also be a crowd-pleasing item in a Christmas concert or assembly. Also suitable as an instrumental item in a church service.Available for other combinations of instruments too.

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Trio Flute - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1015624 Composed by David Healy-Richards. Celtic,Classical,Contemporary,Traditional. 11 pages. David Healy-Richards #4805467. Published by David Healy-Richards (A0.1015624). This short composition is an exercise based on counterpoint and contrapuntal harmony. It is scored for three flutes and It has been written in C# Minor. Counterpoint builds texure by taking a number of melody lines and overlapping them. You will see I have composed three lines and moved the top and bottom lines in contrary motion as heard in such polyphony as Thomas Talice's Spem in Alium A mixture between the key signature, the orchestration and the various time signature jumps gives this piece it's folky feel. I started my composition in the triad of C# minor and us the melodies developed I ended up crossing between the chords of F# minor, D# and E minor these various chords help to keep the piece interesting.

Masquerade Music #915851. Published by Masquerade Music (A0.1327817). Festive Fragments (12/24 Flute Trios for seasonal fun!)Ā  for three same flutes (C/C/C, or alto/alto/alto etc). Pieces in varying difficulty levels (* to ***). Aimed at early - intermediate level players. Great for the rhythmically challenged! Includes score and separate parts. Fab for all ages. A useful tool for correct note voicing due to frequent leaps/drops! Even more fun after mulled wine etc! View our Youtube video with shows how Festive Fragments works here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uQ142OIQArIA clever education idea of a volume of fragmented Christmas Carols/Songs where the carols will only be recognisable if most of the pitches and rhythms are correct (providing much hilarity and much needed festive fun on the run up to what can be a very stressful period). Written by Keri Degg (a UK woodwind teacher/composer passionate about music education). The pieces are simply numbered 1 through to 24 (not given the song titles) so even the leader won't know the tune beforehand....however, the song titles are given on the back page of the score, so nil desperanum if the ensemble plays so badly that you need to actually discover what it was supposed to be! ;DThe collection includes 12 Christmas Carols/well known Christmas tunes as a fragmented melody only option (think flute handbells?!) and then the same 12 pieces but with the addition of a harmony line added (also fragmented!) so at any time a player could be playing a melody note followed by harmony notes etc...the parts when viewed separately seem nonsense! Great fun for small ensembles in the Christmas season.A great collection to bring out year after year!Festive Fragments is available for three same saxophones, three same clarinets, AAT saxophone trio and flute/flute, clarinet/clarinet, saxophone/saxophone duet editions.

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Trio Flute - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1138510 Composed by Christian Petzold, Johann Sebastian Bach, and Martin Luther. Arranged by Ander. Baroque,Early Music,Renaissance,Sacred,Wedding. 38 pages. Woods Only, Arrangements #738850. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.1138510). This album contains 5 of Johann Sebastian Bach's most famous and versatile pieces for flute trio, all very well suited for the beginners who want to get to know the baroque repertoire. They are also suitable for performances at events such as: weddings, Christian and church ceremonies, Easter, and academic recitals or concerts. They can be used in music institutions and by teachers as repertoire material and study methods, either for performance or instrumental technique. This collection includes a totally free bonus for you to enjoy: Martin Luther's A Mighty Fortress is Our God, a Renaissance sacred song for choir, which has been adapted for this set. 1: Air on the G String - The original piece is part of Johann Sebastian Bach's Suite No. 3 for orchestra, in D Major, BWV 1068, written for Prince Leopold of Anhalt. The so-called Air on the G String dates from one of these latter employments. In the service of the Prince of Cƶthen, Bach composed not only the famous Brandenburg Concertos, but also several orchestral suites, from the third of which comes the Air on the G String. This curious title derives from a later arrangement of this piece for violin solo, in which the melody is played entirely on the lower, higher string of the instrument. 2: Arioso - The Cantata 156 (BWV 156) was written for the third Sunday after Epiphany in 1729, and was first performed on January 23 of that year. The text is by Picander, one of Bach's favorite librettists. Of the four cantatas written by Bach for the feast, it was the last and only one scored for solo voice. This is a choral cantata, employing a choral melody in several movements. Cantata 156, in fact, employs two different choral melodies and texts in the second and sixth movements. A cantata is a sung symphony consisting of several parts, one of which is the Arioso, which is the initial instrumental part. 3: Jesu, joy of man's desiring - This is one of Bach's most beautiful cantatas, made famous by the Jesus the Joy of Men chorus. It was originally composed for Advent 1716 in Weimar. Years later, already in Leipzig, Advent was tempus clausum, there was no music in the churches. Bach then reworked it for the Feast of Mary's Visitation. It is the final chorale of the cantata Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben. Although it is the 32nd cantata composed by Bach, of those that have survived, it was given BWV 147 in the complete catalog of his works. 4: O Jesulein sĆ¼ss, o Jesulein mild - The Jesulein sĆ¼ĆŸ, the Jesulein mild is an original traditional German choral melody for voice and continuous bass arranged by Johann Sebastian Bach around 1735. With lyrics by Valentin Thilo, O Jesulein sĆ¼ss is a sacred melody adapted and catalogued as BWV 493. The first translation is by Dirk van Hogendorp, who made it more of a song for the time of suffering. 5: Minuet in G major - This famous piece has traditionally been attributed to Johann Sebastian Bach, as it appears in the Notebook for Anna Magdalena , a notebook that Bach gave to his wife Anna Magdalena in 1725 and which was to be filled with the favorite selections of Bach family members. However, recent research has concluded that this minuet, sometimes referred to as BWV Anhang 114. was probably composed by Christian Petzold, a German composer and organist contemporary with Bach. Bonus: A Mighty Fortress is Our God, by Martin Luther - Ein feste Burg ist unser Gott is a hymn written by Martin Luther probably before 1529. The melody was also considered his work for a long time, but it was created at least with the collaboration of Johann Walter. The song is of great symbolic power for Protestantism, where it is also known as Deus noster refugium et virtus. Considered one of the most important hymns in the history of Christianity, it was considered by the Christian poet Johann Heirich Heine (1797-1856) to be the Marseillaise of the Reformation, in an allusion to the French national anthem.
