Flute Quartet,Woodwind Ensemble - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1107950 Composed by Various. Arranged by BRIAN W. COPPING. Celtic,Contest,Festival,Irish,Traditional. 15 pages. EMK Music #710566. Published by EMK Music (A0.1107950). IRISH WASHERWOMAN, GALWAY BAY, GARRY OWEN and LONDONDERRY AIR Many different choices could be made from the wealth of Irish folk and popular music. Nevertheless, the ‘Irish Jig’, with its strong connection with the tradition of Irish dancing, really chooses itself. The Irish Washerwoman and Garry Owen are both well-known and are written in the typical compound metre. The other two tunes have both become extremely well known in the world at large. Londonderry air also became very known as “Danny Boy†and Galway Bay by Dr Arthur Colahan was recorded by Bing Crosby and subsequently by Irish groups like The Dubliners and The Clancy Brothers.

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quartet Flute - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.582116 Composed by Gustav Holst. Arranged by John Gibson. 20th Century,Celtic,Christmas,Folk,Irish. 21 pages. JB Linear #5735829. Published by JB Linear (A0.582116). Written in 1926 for piano, Chrissemas (Christmas) Day in the Morning used an English folk song, O Dame get up and Bake your Pies.  It has a happy, exciting mood with piquant harmonies. All four parts get the song from time to time and there is a surprise noise at the end. It is set by John Gibson for 4 C flutes. Special note: since this is not necessarily a Christmas-y piece, you may wish to title it: A Northumbrian Pipe-Tune and play it at any time of year!

Flute Quartet,Woodwind Ensemble Flute - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.763340 Composed by Trad. Scottish. Arranged by Nigel Williams. Celtic,Film/TV,Irish,Traditional. 10 pages. Nigel Williams #4845779. Published by Nigel Williams (A0.763340). This well known and haunting Scottish folk melody, featured on the Television drama Outlander, is attractively arranged for flute quartet. The first half of the arrangement is in the first and second octave range, then at measure 39 the 1st flute takes the tune into the third octave with shimmering 8th note harmonies in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th flutes. This is an ideal repertoire choice for performance at any time during the year and especially around St Andrew's Day (30th November). The full score has four individual parts attached and the performance duration is close to three minutes. Enjoy browsing my many flute trio, quartet and wind arrangements on SMP.
