The simplicity of a flower or a song can snatch your heart... I think it's hard to have someone who doesn't know She by Charles Aznavour and how much this song enchanted generations. Composed by Charles Aznavour, one of the greatest French singers of all time, of Armenian origin, also an actor. Aware of the potential of his newest song, Aznavour decided to record She (written by him and Herbert Kretzmer) not only in French, but also in English, German, Spanish and Italian. And he was right: released in 1974, the song was hugely successful everywhere, topping the UK charts. In 1999, 25 years later, She was covered by the British Elvis Costello for the soundtrack of the film Notting Hill (A Place Called Notting Hill), theme song by the couple William Thacker (Hugh Grant) and Anna Scott (Julia Roberts), quickly reaching worldwide success.

Composed by Herve Vilard and Paul Anka. Arranged by Leo Silva. Multicultural,World. Individual part. 2 pages. Published by MP Sheet Music (A0.508779).

Capri c'est fini is a French song, composed and sung by Hervé Vilard. This song enjoyed great success in France from its release in June 1965 and launched the career of the young singer who was then 19 years old. Vilard recorded the song in seven languages and sold 2.5 million copies. The lyrics describe a romantic breakup. The song's title, which is identified with its chorus, uses the Italian island of Capri, where the relationship was formed and lasted, to represent the couple who break up. Hervé Vilard, who had just signed his first contract with Mercury Records, was not successful in singing the songs in English re-recorded in that studio's catalogue. The idea of the title came to him by chance, when he saw a tourist advertisement on the Paris Metro, calling attention to that island, making him think of the song C'est fini, which Charles Aznavour had released in the same year and which Villard often hummed. In that song, there was also a repetition of the phrase C' est fini (it's over).
