Jazz Ensemble - Digital Download SKU: AX.00-PC-0016189_AX1 E-flat Alto Saxophone. Composed by Benny Carter. Instructional. Part. 2 pages. Alfred Music - Digital Sheet Music #00-PC-0016189_AX1. Published by Alfred Music - Digital Sheet Music (AX.00-PC-0016189_AX1). UPC: 038081331959.Even when Benny Carter wasn't writing for Count Basie, many of his charts from the 1950's onward sound like they could have been written for Basie. Maybe this is because so many of Basie's arrangers (Sammy Nestico, Quincy Jones, Billy Byers and Neal Hefti) were influenced by Carter. The writing is straightforward, with simple harmonies, swinging rhythms and very clear counterpoint. Again And Again has much of the style of an alto feature that Quincy Jones might have written for Marshall Royal. Although Carter gives the pianist two little solo spots, the focus is on the lead alto. The backgrounds are spare and dry, so it is incumbent upon the soloist to supply the warmth and personality to tell this gentle story. Vibrato, scoops, bends, turns, and other devices can be used to bring this simple line to life.

Soprano Saxophone Solo - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1217911 Composed by Gerald Marks and Seymour Simons. Arranged by Leo Silva. Jazz. Individual part. 1 pages. MP Sheet Music #814429. Published by MP Sheet Music (A0.1217911). Composition and characteristics  All of Me is a jazz standard whose lyrics and music were written by Gerald Marks and Seymour Simons in 1931. It has an ABAC structure and was originally written in the key of B-flat major. The melody combines the music's contradictory possibilities. The downward thrusts of the opening phrases suggest emotional despair, while the final line, with its repeated high notes, sounds almost jubilant. It usually runs in an average time. All of Me first came to public notice when a performance by Belle Baker was broadcast on the radio in 1931. After that a few others also became successful.Frank Sinatra recorded several versions of All of Me. Its 1948 release peaked at No. 21. He also sang it in the film Meet Danny Wilson, which may have helped Johnnie Ray's performance reach No. 12 in the charts that year. Sinatra's use of All of Me brought a non-jazz audience to the song, as did Willie Nelson, whose version was included on his Stardust album and reached No. 3 on the Hot Country Songs chart in 1978. In 2000, All of Me of Me received the Towering Song Award from the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
