A soulful, expressive melody harmonized with a strong countermelody that shifts continually through the lowest and interior voices.  Arranged for three Bb clarinets and bass clarinet, but with alternative parts for Eb Clarinet (replacing Clarinet 1) and Eb Alto Clarinet or Basset Horn in F (replacing Clarinet 3).  Jazz influenced, but no improvisation is required.
