Oboe Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.596425 Composed by Daniel Hay. 20th Century,Contemporary,Multicultural,World. Individual part. 1 pages. Daniel Hay Music #5741923. Published by Daniel Hay Music (A0.596425). When composing this solo piece the composer, Daniel Hay was thinking of massive troll-like creatures ponderously stomping around a bonfire. Perhaps the image is better if you think of drunk sumo fighters dancing around rising flames. Most of the time when the composer uses repeats he labels them with an uppercase letter to identify them, followed by a hyphen and a lowercase letter showing where the repeat leads. Occasionally, as in The Dance of the Stone Trolls, there is also a lowercase letter within parentheses which is used to indicate an optional location to repeat from either at the first pass or possibly as a second pass. The attached YouTube link is performed on Tenor Recorder by the composer during a rehearsal. This version is wonderful with Oboe, Clarinet, Violin, or Soprano, and Tenor Recorders.
