Johann Sebastian Bach’s five-voice triple fugue in Eā™ major from BWV 552 became known as the ā€œSt. Anneā€ fugue due to its similarity to the hymn of the same name by William Croft. It is presented here for five clarinets. If an alto clarinet or basset horn is not available, a fourth B-flat clarinet part has also been included. The bass clarinet uses the extended low C range in the end section, but an 8va ossia is provided if an instrument with this range is not available. The arrangement can also be played as a larger clarinet ensemble or choir with the additional contra-alto and contrabass clarinet parts. Extended ranges are not necessary for the contra clarinets.Instrumentation:B-flat clarinet 1B-flat clarinet 2B-flat clarinet 3Alto clarinet/Basset Horn/B-flat clarinet 4Bass clarinetopt.E-flat contra-alto clarinetB-flat contrabass clarinetLength: 6-8 minutesDifficulty: Intermediate.

Arranged by Ray Thompson. 19th Century,Children,Romantic Period. 11 pages. RayThompsonMusic #1066100. Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.1489240). Wiegenlied (Lullaby,Berceuse, Cradle Song), Op. 49, No. 4, is a song for voice and piano by Johannes Brahms which was first published in 1868.in a set of 5 pieces for voice and piano. It is one of the composer's most famous pieces.Sometimes known as Guten Abend, gut' Nacht, (Good evening, good night) which are the first words of the song.Brahms based the music of his Wiegenlied partially on S'Is Anderscht, a duet by Alexander Baumann published in the 1840s. It was dedicated to Brahms's friend, Bertha Faber, on the occasion of the birth of her second son.Brahms had been in love with her in her youth and constructed the melody of the Wiegenlied to suggest, as a hidden counter-melody, a song she used to sing to him.Simrock published Brahms's Op. 49 in November 1868. It was first performed in public on 22 December 1869 in Vienna by Luise Dustmann (singer) and Clara Schumann (piano).Arranged clarinet quintetEb, 2 Bb, alto and bass.Alternate Bb parts provided for Eb and alto clarinets.Check out my other arrangements of works by Brahms including Hungarian Dance No 5, a Scherzo from the 1st Serenade, various movements from the Variations on a Theme by Haydn (St Anthony Variations) and arrangements of his Piano works- Intermezzo, Capriccio, Romanze, Ballade etc.
