An arrangement for clarinet quintet of  3 of Satie's most popular pieces of music: The Gymnopédies No.1 is the best known.My arrangement differs from most other arrangements that you may find, in that the melody is given to every player, the bass line moves between the three lower clarinets, and the five members of the quintet do not play together all of the time. This, I feel gives a bit of variation and interest to the players!! It is scored for Eb, 2 Bb, alto and bass clarinets (using this instrumentation will give some variation in tone colour  to the melody line) I have also provided Bb parts for the Eb and alto.   Please check out  the rest of my Satie arrangements for varying instrument combinations : 3 Gymnopédies and 3 Gnossiennes. The song continued the transformation of the Beatles from a mainly rock and roll- and pop-oriented act to a more experimental, studio-based band. With a double string quartet arrangement by George Martin and lyrics providing a narrative on loneliness, Eleanor Rigby broke sharply with popular music conventions, both musically and lyrically. Richie Unterberger of AllMusic cites the band's singing about the neglected concerns and fates of the elderly on the song as just one example of why the Beatles' appeal reached so far beyond the traditional rock audience.
