He began his career as a concert pianist, but later turned to composition and became known for his elegant and refined style.Lack’s works include piano pieces, chamber music, and orchestral compositions. He was particularly known for his piano music, which was characterized by its clarity and precision. His works were widely performed and admired during his lifetime but have since fallen into relative obscurity.Lack was also a dedicated teacher, and he taught piano and music theory at the École Normale de Musique de Paris.
