Written in 1926 for piano, A Northumbrian Pipe-Tune (Chrissemas Day in the Morning) used an English folk song, O Dame get up and Bake your Pies. . It has a happy, exciting mood with piquant harmonies. All parts get the song from time to time and there is a surprise noise at the end. It is set by John Gibson for 2 Alto and 2 Tenor saxophones.Special note: since this is not necessarily a Christmas-y piece, you may wish to title it: A Northumbrian Pipe-Tune and play it at any time of year!

The song by Brian Wilson and Mike Love tells a story of a little boy and his dad visiting Santa. The little guy insists on visiting the real, real Santa and tests Santa by pulling the pillow out of his shirt and the beard off his face. As any suffering parent would do, his dad tries to save the situation.
