The Oboe Concerto in D minor, S D935, is an early 18th-century concerto for oboe, strings and continuo attributed to the Venetian composer Alessandro Marcello. The earliest extant manuscript containing Johann Sebastian Bach's solo keyboard arrangement of the concerto, BWV 974, dates from around 1715.Bach's keyboard version was published as an arrangement of a concerto by Antonio Vivaldi in the 19th century. In 1923 the C minor version of the oboe concerto was published as a composition by Benedetto Marcello, Alessandro's brother. In the second half of the 20th century several publications indicated Alessandro again as the composer of the piece, as it had been in its early 18th-century print, and the oboe concerto was again published in its D minor version.This easy arrangement for sax quartet of the marvelous second movement (adagio) of the concerto is suitable for any occasion.

Lenhart has also participated in numerous ensembles across Michigan, including the MYAF All-State Choir, Tecumseh Pops Orchestra, University of Michigan Men’s Glee Club and the SMTD University Choir. He thoroughly enjoys collaboration with other composers, performers, poets and visual artists. Some of his recent projects include collaborations with individuals from the University of Michigan Chamber Music, History, and Poetry departments.

Eternal Father, Strong to Save is a British hymn traditionally associated with seafarers, and was first written in 1860 by William Whiting (1825—1878), an Anglican churchman from Winchester. According to his recount, Whiting grew up near the ocean and, at the age of thirty-five, had felt his life spared by God when a violent storm nearly claimed the ship he was travelling on. This instilled in him a belief in God's command over the rage and calm of the sea. The music associated with it was written by John B. Dykes (1823—1876), another Anglican clergymen and composer of the music for nearly three hundred hymns. This edition comes in several arrangements for multiple ensembles. At the moment of the first edition it contains the original choir version (with the 1861 lyrics), a voice and piano version, and arrangements for string, cello, trombone, horn, woodwind, brass, and saxophone quartets. Even though the original work is for strings, this did not prevent this beautiful adaptation, where the original essence of the work was maintained, being made only an adaptation of the tonality and some adaptations in the tessitura of the instruments. This piece can be used for professional and academic recitals, didactic material and repertoire for ensemble practice as well, which does not prevent professional musicians and instructors from using it for performances of their preference. Luigi Boccherini was born in the city of Lucca, in northern Italy. He studied cello and became a virtuoso who eventually moved to Spain, where he worked with the Spanish royal family for the rest of his life. His String Quintet in E major, Op. 11, No. 5, G 275, was written in 1771 and published in 1775, and is one of his most famous works.The quintet is famous for its minuet and trio, third movement which is often played as an independent piece outside the context of the full quintet. This is notably the most famous, it is in 3/4 time, in the key of E Major modulating to A Major. This is a beautiful work, and not just the third movement, with good partial writing for all. The lovely, flowing melodies and rhythms are typical of Boccherini. The quintet is suitable for both concerts and home performances.
