Saxophone Quartet,Woodwind Ensemble Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Soprano Saxophone,Tenor Saxophone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1151823 Composed by Frank Loesser. Arranged by James Pybus. Christmas,Holiday,Pop,Standards. 9 pages. James Pybus #752026. Published by James Pybus (A0.1151823). What Are You Doing New Year's Eve? is a popular song written in 1947 by Frank Loesser as an independent song. It was first recorded by Margaret Whiting in 1947 and first charted for The Orioles, peaking at No. 9 on Billboard's Best-Selling Retail Rhythm & Blues chart in December 1949. Although it is typically performed in December, that was not the composer's intent. In A Most Remarkable Fella: Frank Loesser and the Guys and Dolls in His Life, his daughter Susan Loesser explains that the singer, madly in love, is making a (possibly rash) commitment far into the future. (Maybe it's much too early in the game. Ah, but I thought I'd ask you just the same – What are you doing New Year's, New Year's Eve?) It always annoyed my father when the song was sung during the holidays. This SATB Saxophone Quartet arrangement begins with a quote from Dvorak's New World Symphony before proceeding into the rarely included verse of the song and ends with a quote from the popular song Auld Lang Syne written by Robert Burns, which is often heard on New Year's Eve. The saxophone quartet sound is sure to engage audiences in the spirit and sentiment of the song itself. The duration is 4:21. Contact me at james.pybus56@gmail.com.

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quartet Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Soprano Saxophone,Tenor Saxophone - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.527713 Composed by P. I. Tchaikovsky. Arranged by Diego Marani. Classical,Concert,Instructional,Romantic Period,Standards. 8 pages. Diego Marani #3125219. Published by Diego Marani (A0.527713). Danse des petits cygnes is a famous dance from Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake, from the ballet’s second act, the fourth movement of No. 13. Translated from French, it means Dance of the Little Swans, also known as Dance of the cygnets. It is very challenging because all dancers must look the same.Ivanov's choreography—created for the famous revival of Swan Lake in 1895—was meant to imitate the way cygnets huddle and move together for protection. Four dancers enter the stage in a line and move across with their arms crossed in front of one another, grasping the next dancer's hand. They move sideways, doing sixteen pas de chat. Ideally the dancers move in exact or near-exact unison. At the very end, they break their chain and try to fly, only to drop to the ground. This arrangement for sax quartet includes the following parts: Bb Soprano, Eb Alto, Bb Tenor, Eb Baritone.

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quartet Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Soprano Saxophone,Tenor Saxophone - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.584443 Composed by Bruce Woolley, Simon Darlow, Steve Lipson, and Trevor Horn. Arranged by Jeff Tincher. Contemporary. 22 pages. Jeff Tincher #5754949. Published by Jeff Tincher (A0.584443). This is the song that turned me onto Grace Jones music. I borrowed the Slave To The Rhythm LP from the library, put it on the turntable, and thought this is different. This track was the last track on the A-side. As I further listened to the LP I realized that the album used the same song in different genres, format, and keys. You wouldn't know it unless you really listened to the LP. This arrangement, however, is in the original key from her Island Life LP. This song has funk all over it. Grace is a strange character but has a great voice. What made me pick this song is I was searching through youtube to find a song to arrange and I found Grace doing this song live. Again, Grace surprised me. You think female stars today has energy. She sang the song while hula hooping. She was 64 when she did this. She still does this on her concerts. Here is the link to amaze you...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSa5EvWqB7g. Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quartet Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Soprano Saxophone,Tenor Saxophone - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.584915 Composed by Theodore Baker. Arranged by Jeff Tincher. Christian,Christmas,Jazz,Sacred. 13 pages. Jeff Tincher #6086851. Published by Jeff Tincher (A0.584915). This is a smooth jazz arrangement of a grand old hymn. I originally heard this arrangement on a CD I purchased from the budget Christmas section. The CD had no band name on it. Doing some research I found that the band is Wordharmonic. The title of the CD is Light Jazz Christmas. The original hymn is in 7/4. This arrangement is mainly 4/4 with some 6/4, 2/4, and 3/4 measures. Duration = 4:11. Saxophone Quartet,Woodwind Ensemble Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Tenor Saxophone - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.955727 Composed by Antonio Carlos Jobim. Arranged by Phil Thrift. Contemporary. 17 pages. Phil Thrift #5741027. Published by Phil Thrift (A0.955727). Wave is one of those marvelous Latin numbers for which Antonio Carlos Jobim is so famous. This is the saxophone edition of my arrangement for trombone quartet – different key and a few minor adaptations. Apart from the usual demands of quartet playing, the real challenge here is to keep the groove going in the accompaniment while the lead player pulls the melody around. And the lead changes across all four parts! Without a rhythm section doing it for you, you’ll have to immerse yourself in that Latin groove. You have to feel the pulse of those eighth notes of the underlying rhythm to achieve the tight playing necessary to make this piece sound really convincing. I hope saxophone players will have as much enjoyment with this piece as trombonists have had!Although written for A/T/T/B, an alternative 2nd Alto part is included so the piece can be played A/A/T/B.
