Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quartet Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Soprano Saxophone,Tenor Saxophone - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.576627 Composed by David Warin Solomons. 20th Century,Christian,Contemporary,Sacred. 6 pages. David Warin Solomons #44129. Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.576627). The Our Father setting, which I set as part of my Preces and Responses, is now also published separately in various versions: choral (with doxology and without doxology [1662 BCP version]), brass quartet (various combinations of brass instruments), string quartet, flute quartet, clarinet quartet, saxophone quartet, woodwind quartet, - all in appropriate keys for the various combinations of instruments. ==== The music is lyrical and is reminiscent of the early 1662 settings complete with an English cadence at the end, but with a curious addition of a quote from Tchaikovksy's fate theme at the deliver us from evil section. === The pdf files of the instrumental versions contain score and parts. The sound samples are all electronic previews.

Saxophone Quartet,Woodwind Ensemble - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1313145 By Hugh Levey. By Gustav Holst. Arranged by Hugh Levey. 20th Century,Advent,Chamber,Christmas,Religious. 15 pages. Woodwindly.com #901978. Published by woodwindly.com (A0.1313145). Saxophone Quartet (SATB or AATB)In the Bleak Mid-Winter is a popular Christmas Carol which has been set to music by both Gustav Holst and Harold Darke. This sax quartet arrangement is based on the Holst version and combines the composer's beautifully simple harmony with the arranger's own counter-melodies and intricate wind writing. Lovely writing for all instruments. An ideal work for Christmas concert programming. This is a through-composed instrumental arrangement that explores the melody and harmonies of the Holst hymn in 3 differently arranged verses. After a short introduction the first verse uses Holst’s original 4-part harmonisation in its beautiful simplicity, with soprano saxophone playing the melodic line. In verse 2, the tenor sax presents the tune in a lower register while the baritone plays a Baroque style ‘walking bass’. The sopranoe and alto weave countermelodies above them, introducing new material for a Pachelbel-like interlude of an ascending sequence - bringing the music to a climax before subsiding into verse 3. Here a slightly ornamented version of the tune returns with the new material continuing in the bass line. After another smaller climax we return to the original Holst as the work ends quietly and thoughtfully.

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quartet Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Tenor Saxophone - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1250837 Composed by Peter Jackson (1945 -). 21st Century,Chamber,Contemporary,Contest,Festival. 49 pages. EMK Music #845109. Published by EMK Music (A0.1250837). Scored for two Alto Saxophones, Tenor and Baritone Saxophones, there are alternative parts three and four so it can be played by four Alto Saxophones. This is very handy for teachers of groups of like instruments. PREMIER QUARTET as the title suggests is the first wind quartet by the composer.  The quartet is based on the opening six notes which are restated in various guises throughout the three movements.   The instrumental ranges are comfortable with some interesting solo and rhythmic challenges to excite enthusiastic young musicians.
