Sweeter the bells never sound a well-known German Christmas carol dating from the 19th century. The text is written to the German theologian and educator Friedrich Wilhelm Kritzinger (1816-1890). The melody comes from a Thuringian folk song before 1826. The song creates a hopeful and healing atmosphere. The bell sound is a symbol of peace, joy and Christmas joy.
