Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quartet Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Soprano Saxophone,Tenor Saxophone - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.750630 Composed by P. I. Tchaikovsky. Arranged by Diego Marani. Classical,Contest,Festival,Instructional,Romantic Period,Standards. 15 pages. Diego Marani #358474. Published by Diego Marani (A0.750630). Tchaikovsky's Serenade for Strings in C Major was written with an ear towards one of his idols, a certain 18th century composer by the name of Mozart. The title and structure of the piece are taken from the serenades of the latter, though this is certainly Tchaikovsky's own particularly 19th century rendering of these older ideas. That it is a masterful work, is demonstrated by the fact that it still remains among the most performed and appreciated by the public alongside the serenades by Antonín Dvořák and Josef Suk. The second movement is a gracious waltz that updates the requisite dance movement (which in Mozart's time would have been a stately minuet) to a more contemporary dance form. In any case, the waltz is almost deceptively complex. The harmonic shifts are numerous and often sudden and always deftly crafted. The texture is somewhat of a departure from the previous movement in that there is a discernible lightness of touch in the waltz. This arrangement for sax quartet (Bb Soprano, Eb Alto, Bb Tenor, Eb Baritone) reflects faithfully the original and is suitable for classroom, repertoire and recital.

The third movement, entitled “Elegyâ€, is certainly the kind of direct, emotional and extremely lyrical writing for which Tchaikovsky is known. The harmony is robust and evocative, always the perfect underpinning for the melancholic melodies heard above. Saxophone Quartet,Woodwind Ensemble Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Soprano Saxophone,Tenor Saxophone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1431199 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by James M. Guthrie. Baroque,Chamber,Contest,Festival,Historic,Standards. 54 pages. Jmsgu3 #1011662. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.1431199). BACH: Partita No. 2 BWV 826 Contents: Sinfonia, Allemande, Courante, Sarabande, Rondeau, Capriccio. Bach's Partita No. 2 in C minor, BWV 826, is an essential work for several reasons: Significance in Bach's Oeuvre It is part of Bach's monumental collection of six partitas (suites) for the keyboard, considered among music history's most famous and challenging suites. The partitas were published as Bach's Opus 1 in 1731, showcasing the diversity of forms and ingenious counterpoint in his keyboard writing.  Partita No. 2 was one of the earliest partitas to be published individually in 1727, highlighting its significance.  Musical Characteristics It opens with a grand Sinfonia movement akin to a French overture, followed by an expressive Andante aria-like movement.  The fugue movement has an intense subject spanning a minor 9th interval. It includes a double (ornamented variation) of the traditional Sarabande dance movement. The final Capriccio movement is a virtuosic and contrapuntal concerto-like piece testing the performer's technical prowess.  Overall, the partita exhibits a weighty, substantial, and momentous character compared to the first.  Influence and Legacy It expanded keyboard suites' technical and musical boundaries along with the other partitas.  Due to its artistic merit and challenges, it has remained a pinnacle of the keyboard repertoire, studied and performed by generations of musicians.  In summary, Bach's Partita No. 2 is a significant work that exemplifies the composer's mastery of counterpoint, variation forms, and virtuosic keyboard writing, solidifying the partitas' enduring importance in the canon of Western classical music.

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quartet Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Soprano Saxophone,Tenor Saxophone - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.742915 Composed by P. I. Tchaikovsky. Arranged by Diego Marani. Classical,Contest,Festival,Instructional,Romantic Period,Standards. 23 pages. Diego Marani #351038. Published by Diego Marani (A0.742915). Cast in a classical four movement outlay, the work begins with a sonata form movement (Tchaikovsky calls it a sonatina, i.e. little sonata, though it is a rather robust form, replete with a slow introduction and full development). This arrangement for sax quartet (Bb Soprano, Eb Alto, Bb Tenor, Eb Baritone) reflects faithfully the original and is suitable for classroom, repertoire and recital.

Pie Jesu from Faure's Requiem, Op.48. Arrangement for Saxophone Quartet -  Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Baritone. With Full Score and Individual Parts. Enjoy it!Gabriel Fauré (1845 – 1924) was a French composer, organist, pianist and teacher. He was one of the foremost French composers of his generation, and his musical style influenced many 20th-century composers. Among his best-known works are his Pavane, Requiem, Sicilienne, nocturnes for piano and the songs Après un rêve and Clair de lune. Although his best-known and most accessible compositions are generally his earlier ones, Fauré composed many of his most highly regarded works in his later years, in a more harmonically and melodically complex style. For Tutorials, Play Alongs or request New Arrangements, visit my YouTube Channel: Sheet Music To Play

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quartet Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Soprano Saxophone,Tenor Saxophone - Digital Download SKU: A0.1010677 Composed by Zachary C. Daniels. Contemporary. 41 pages. Divisi Labs #6563895. Published by Divisi Labs (A0.1010677). Score and PartsSaxophonic Variability is written with the intent of demonstrating the full set of colors and technical possibilities of a saxophone quartet. The opening movement, slow and sombre, reminds us of the time when saxophones were first brought to the public eye regularly, the late 1800s. The continual flow between harmony, and dissonance is representative of what is to come in the remaining movements. The second movement takes off immediately, and departs on a musical journey of its' own. The rhythmic drive being heavily inspired by bebop jazz, and similar styles of the mid-twentiethcentury. Listen, as moments of solace break out in reverence of the great ballads written for the instrument by many jazz composers of this era. This movement ends as abrubtly as it began as we enter the slow, lyrical third movement. This next movement is incredibly slow, and brings out the lyrical, singing quality of the instrument given the right timbre. The piece concludes with a fiery finale that develops ideas introduced earlier in the piece. This is a great piece to showcase the flexibility of an ensemble, and makes for a good finisher.

Saxophone Quartet,Woodwind Ensemble Tenor Saxophone - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1138458 Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Arranged by Ander. Christmas,Classical,Instructional,March,Romantic Period. 14 pages. Woods Only, Arrangements #738794. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.1138458). This arrangement adapted for tenor saxophone quartet was designed to make its listeners weep with emotion, because the adaptation preserves the original essence of the work, keeping its integrity faithful to what Beethoven wanted to transmit, with only a slight change in tone and addition of harmonic resources in the structure of the arrangement. Even though it is a funeral march, it is well suited for any musical performance occasion, being intended for beginner students who want to immerse themselves in the universe of romantic music, and nothing better than starting with the transitional composer of this period, which also does not prevent professional teachers from using it for recitals, academic presentations or didactic material in their classes as an ensemble practice. Ludwig van Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 14 in C minor sharp, Op. 27, No. 2, is one of his most popular compositions and was an audience favorite even in his day. Written when Beethoven was 31, the Moonlight Sonata (Mondscheinsonate in German) was composed after he finished some commissioned works, but there is no evidence that he was hired to write this work. It did not receive its nickname until 1832, five years after Beethoven's death. It was the critic Ludwig Rellstab who compared the music to a moonlighting on Lake Lucerne. This comparison was adopted as a nickname for the work. Called Quasi una fantasia by the author - like its companion Op. 27, No. 1 - the piece was completed in 1801 and dedicated the following year to one of the composer's pupils. Beethoven chose to open the sonata with a slow, hypnotic arpeggio movement, the best known of the entire work. The dotted rhythm of its minimal melody evokes the tradition of 'Trauermusik' (funeral music).
