Whereas the original Winds of Paradise was written with a specific group in mind, The 'Hodges Edition' of this piece makes certain changes meant to improve accessibility for groups of all shapes and sizes. The key was changed to the friendlier F, toning down the demanding range of the original. The instrumentation was also altered, trading an alto for a new 'soprano saxophone 2' part. The result is a more relaxed, more nostalgic version of this piece, inspired by introspective hikes around Lake Hodges from my hometown.
