It was meant very much as a tongue-in-cheek comedy vaudeville piece and proved very popular with both jazz and classical audiences.From an initial simple statement of the tune, this arrangement moves through several different styles, from bebop and show-two feel to an over-the-top waltz and becomes quite technically demanding in places.
