Arranged by John A. Dempsey. Celtic,Easter,Irish,Spiritual,Traditional,Wedding. 20 pages. John A. Dempsey #3544065. Published by John A. Dempsey (A0.523560). Give me a boat that can carry two and both shall row, my love and I.  From a rich, vibrant tradition comes the classic The Water is Wide, crafted to evoke misty Scottish landscapes with rolling green hills (you can almost smell the heather). This unabashedly romantic woodwind quartet (soprano sax, alto sax, tenor sax and baritone sax) is perfect for weddings and ceilidhs (or any Celtic-themed music event) as well as recitals and concerts.  As wedding music, The Water is Wide stirs the heart as a prelude, unity candle accompaniment, a bridal march or a bridesmaid processional.            As the melody has been used in multiple hymn settings, including The Gift of Love, Though I May Speak with Bravest Fire and as an alternate melody for When I Survey the Wondrous Cross, this music is effective for traditional church services and other worship events, as a prelude, postlude, an offertory, interlude, silent prayer accompaniment and special music.  Concert Key: F major.  Soprano/Tenor Sax Key: G major.  Alto/Baritone Sax Key: D major.  16 pages of music (that includes the score and separate two-page pullout parts for each sax)   .

Celtic,Chamber,Contest,Festival,Folk,Irish,Traditional. 16 pages. James Pybus #1066886. Published by James Pybus (A0.1490023). Farewell to Nova Scotia is a popular folk song from Nova Scotia, Canada. It was adapted from the Scottish lament The Soldier's Adieu by Robert Tannahill. It was written sometime before or during World War I and popularized in 1964 when Catherine McKinnon used it as the theme song for the Halifax-based CBC TV program, Singalong Jubilee. The song has been covered, notably, by Tommy Makem, Gordon Lightfoot, Stan Rogers, The Irish Rovers, and many others. This arrangement for SATB Saxophone Quartet features the top three voices in turn on the melody, while the baritone provides a lively bass line. It is suitable for many concert and performance situations. The duration is 2:55. Contact me at james.pybus56@gmail.com.
