With lyrics by Valentin Thilo, O Jesulein süss is a sacred melody adapted and catalogued as BWV 493. The first translation is by Dirk van Hogendorp, who made it more of a song for the time of suffering. 5: Minuet in G major - This famous piece has traditionally been attributed to Johann Sebastian Bach, as it appears in the Notebook for Anna Magdalena , a notebook that Bach gave to his wife Anna Magdalena in 1725 and which was to be filled with the favorite selections of Bach family members. Gustav Theodore Holst was an English composer, arranger and teacher. Best known for his orchestral suite The Planets, he composed many other works across a range of genres, but was particularly interested in unaccompanied choral works.  These three Welsh folksongs were originally for mixed choir, and have been adapted here for saxophone quartet.  Short and lyrical, these three folksongs can be easily inserted into a concert programme, either individually or as a whole.

She's Like the Swallow was first collected in1930 by the British folksong collector Maud Karpeles. The elusive tune was so beautiful, that she felt it must have come from Britain, but today, we recognize She's Like the Swallow as a Newfoundland folksong. This arrangement of Railway Song is one of a series of jolly and descriptive quartets (and a septet) all based on the Swabian folksong Auf de schwäb'sche Eisebahne (= on the Swabian railway) from the Tübinger Kommersbuch 1853 The music in this arrangement also mimics the speeding up and slowing down of the train and its whistles. Feieromd is one of the most famous folk songs of the Erzgebirge wich are mountains in East Germany on the Czech border. It was written by the folk poet Anton Günther in 1903.

The text written in typical Erzgebirge dialect is widely used in many terms. The author Anton Günther himself wrote the title first Feieromd, later Feierohmd, and smoothed it for the book edition of his songs ultimately to Feierobnd.
