Ephemeris in science terminology is a book with tables that gives the trajectory of naturally occurring astronomical objects as well as artificial satellites in the sky, i.e., the position (and possibly velocity) over time.

The Jazz Combo piece is written in that way, progressions that might naturally occur in 4/4 time and is dark in vibe and nature just like space.

This piece was originally a classical string movement by Mozart.  This arrangement takes that and turns it into a small jazz combo piece for piano, upright bass, drums and tenor sax.  The tenor part could be switched to another brass or woodwind instrument or even a guitar.  The piano could also instead be a vibrapone or marimba part.  The piano part is the lead but the tenor has a lot of lead-like instances as well.  The tempo is increased slightly from the original and the piece is meant to be swung throughout.

Lies in Lairs is a jazz pice in 5/4 for a small combo.  It is written for Vibraphone to be the lead instrument but coudl easily be re-arranged for a different lead such as Trumpet or Sax.  It is about 3 minutes in length but with solos over various sections could be easily lengthened in performance.
