Long Road to Georgia is a simple trad jazz tune, written at a time when I felt a longing to be back home (which isn't Georgia, that just had a better ring to it than my actual home).Do check out the recording for a mock-up rendition. The strings are improvised and aren't necessary, but make the song sound a bit sweeter. The last play-through of the tune in the recording is done with other instruments improvising around the tune for a proper Dixieland feel. I wholeheartedly recommend this - it adds so much to the overall feel if you've got other instruments noodling around. The slow, simple chord progression makes this a really good tune for people who are newer to jazz & improvisation.

A fun and simple blues tune. Can be played at various tempos and styles, but I found that this upbeat shuffle version was the most fun! The A section is a straightforward 'blues' blues, whereas the B section incorporates more jazz blues changes. It could be a good tune for less experienced players to get to grips with the subtle differences.Some solo backings are included for the 'B' section changes - these help add to the energy but are very much optional.

A fun and uplifting Latin piece with a bebop-style melody (not as tricky as it looks!). The chord changes offer plenty of harmonic variety without straying too far from the tonal centre, which should provide a good challenge to newer improvisers and plenty of opportunities for experienced improvisers.The song changes key towards the end, so rhythm section players need to be aware of the turnaround at the end of the song to bring it back to the starting key.Hope you enjoy it!
