Funk It out is for piano solo or ensemble. This is an original tune with a great funky vibe. The piece has one main riff and a couple diversion areas in adjacent keys. It is basically funk blues. This is a sketch chart and there is more improvisation in the audio. 5 page arrangement is challenging but not overly so, and well worth the effort to learn. Fun tune to learn and improvise over. Hello!
This is my composition named Just Having Fun. It was writen for standard jazz band (Drum, electric guitar, bass guitar, piano), and small brass band (Tenor Sax, Alto Sax, Trumpet, Trombone).

Now the idea of this piece is short challenge for musician in different levels, everyone can enjoy. Featuring brass tutti, high note on trumpet, Snarky puppy feels, gospel solos and mysterious feel solos. Feel free to repeate some solo sections to play on different instruments if you want. :)

I don't put any midi demo here because I want you to explore the music by yourself, I see no point of listening to contemporary composition on midi. But I understand that some of you may be upset, and for that I appologize

This is The Cat Empire's hit Hello arranged for (Jazz) Combo with vocals, guitar, piano, bass, drums, 4 piece flexible horn section and an optional bari sax. The funky style with shuffled 16th notes along with the latin montuno like piano part makes this song a real groover. Horn voices are 1&2 on trumpet or alto sax, 3&4 on trombone or tenor sax. A percussion player can easily join in. There is a section where all horn players play a unison line on soprano recorders, which can be a lot of fun. However, this can also be accomplished by the keyboard player using a flute sound, if no recorders are available. For the vocals, only lyrics are provided (since it is mostly spoken). A full score and parts for all instruments are included. The mp3 does not include the guitar part, nor the improvised keyboard fills. Feel free to repeat certain sections or open up the collective improvisation part for an exciting live performance.

Only A Step, Heaven's Call.  A setting of a hymn tune with great funky bebop riff which is simple and groovin at times and also harmonically daring and rich. Big Chords and great nonfunctional Gospel sounding voice leading produces a striking example of the beauty qualities of this astounding gem. Piece includes distinct and unique ideas and vamps and a setting of the hymn tune before concluding. 2 page arrangement is challenging but not overly so, and well worth the effort to learn. Deeply funky tune draws from inspiration in Hezekiah Walker, Chick Corea, Ricky Dillard, Charlie Parker, and Theolonious Monk. It was used for a piano and drum prelude in church, for a moment in time.
