It consists of short pieces written or revised between 1893 and 1896, to mark the birthdays and other events in the life of the daughter of the composer's mistress.An orchestral version of the suite was scored in 1906 by Henri Rabaud, and has, like the original piano duet version, received several recordings. The best-known section of the suite, the Berceuse, has been arranged for several combinations of instruments. In Britain it became famous as the play-out tune to Listen with Mother.The suite, consisting of six short pieces, each with its own title: Berceuse, Mi-a-ou, Le jardin de Dolly, Kitty-valse, Tendresse and Le pas espagnol. Menuett No. 6 was originally  written for pianoforte.   Because of its caracter, It can work perfectly as an introduction piece or for a little surprise encore in the end of a concert.  It is also very easy to play, very appropriate for music students and beginners. And of course righten by no other than Mozart it is the perfect  piece for great artists and performers. The original score was written for the pianoforte. I did an arrangement for woodwind quintet and made an extent use of interpretation symbols like fortes and pianos, crescendos etc., wish where total absent in the original score.  I also had to shorten the length of some notes in order to facilitate the interpretation of the piece on woodwind instruments. Otherwise all the original notes are left unchanged.  The score was written on Finale.  The sound file, was performed with samplers from Garritan and conceived as an audio support for the presentation of the score. Arranged standard wind quintetIncludes natural Horn in C bassoThe Six Viennese Sonatinas were not originally composed by Mozart for the piano. They are a contemporary arrangement of movements from  the Five Wind Divertimentos for 3 basset horns, K. 439b which Mozart wrote in 1783.The Divertimentos are notable for their conciseness of form and their melodic richness. Each divertimento has 5 mvts They therefore make an excellent introduction to Mozart's piano music, even though they are not completely typical of Mozart's piano writing. We do not know for certain who made the arrangement, but Alexander Weinmann has shown that it was probably Ferdinand Kauer. The order of movements is not the same as in the original; moreover, some of the Trios have been exchanged and recapitulations have been shortened in some instances.Thry are in varying keys, unlike the original divertimenti, so my arrangements reflect thus.This is my arrangement for wind quintet of No.6 in C major.The original 3 parts have been reallocated around the quintet, with some octave and harmony additions.I have added an original natural horn part for a more authentic Mozart sound.

He had been Johann Sebastian Bach’s chief trumpeter at Leipzig. He composed Abblasen and Turmmusik (Tower Music), which was played with wind instruments from a tower. His extant Tower Music is only one suite, 24 Neue Quatricinien. Every piece is excellent counterpoint music with plain notes as can be seen on the scores. It is a great gift for players including beginners who want to enjoy rich counterpoint music! Enough cue notes are deployed in the part-scores for ensemble-beginners.

Arranged wind quintet The six Kinderstücke, Op 72, along with the separate Andante in E flat major and Sostenuto in F major, were written in 1842 for the children of F W Benecke, a London wool merchant who was the uncle of Mendelssohn’s wife, Cécile (née Jeanrenaud). Exhibiting distinctive characteristics of the Lieder ohne Worte (treble song-like melodies and ternary ABA forms, for example), these pieces belong as well to the category of children’s music, in the tradition, say, of Schumann’s Klavieralbum für die Jugend and Bizet’s later Jeux d’enfants, and evince a naive innocence reflective of their intended audience. Of the eight, Mendelssohn ultimately chose six to shape into Op 72, the last work he saw through the press. It appeared in December 1847, one month after his death, and in England with the designation of ‘Christmas pieces’. This is my arrangement of No.6 Vivace My mp3 tempo dotted crotchet = 56, which is still vivace enough, and the semi quaver runs are still playable by the woodwind!

His family moved to Paris, after Metz and part of Lorraine were annexed to Germany in 1871 following the Franco-Prussian War. He studied at the Paris Conservatoire, gaining first prizes for solfège, piano, organ, counterpoint and fugue. He won the French Prix de Rome in 1882, with his cantata Edith. His teachers included Antoine François Marmontel, Albert Lavignac, Émile Durand, César Franck (for the organ) and Jules Massenet (for composition).He succeeded César Franck as organist at Sainte-Clotilde Basilica in Paris from 1890 to 1898. He himself was succeeded by another distinguished Franck pupil, Charles Tournemire. Associated for many years with Édouard Colonne's concert series, the Concerts Colonne, from 1903, Pierné became chief conductor of this series in 1910.His most notable early performance was the world premiere of Igor Stravinsky's ballet The Firebird, at the Ballets Russes, Paris, on 25 June 1910. There are few technical challenges, but a beautiful array of colours that can be unlocked through careful rehearsing and playing. This is an excellent slow (and not long) piece to break up a concert program. The level of difficulty, due to the lack of technical challenges, is intermediate.
