The first of the three is far more famous than the others. It is one of Schubert's most famous compositions, and it is often simply referred to as Schubert's Marche militaire.

Arranged standard wind quintet It is in the musical form ABACA. Theme in Bb major, and two other sections in G minor and Bb mnor. The end of each minor section is noted Maggiore D.C. Rosamunde, Fürstin von Zypern (Rosamunde, Princess of Cyprus) is a play by Helmina von Chézy, which is primarily remembered for the incidental music which Franz Schubert composed for it. Music and play premiered in Vienna's Theater an der Wien on 20 December 1823 There are 10 pieces of incidental music, this is no 5. Entr'acte No. 3 in B♭ major (Andantino) is one of the two best-known pieces in the score. The main theme was used again in the Impromptu in B♭, Op. 142 (D 935), No. 3. Schubert used an almost identical theme in the second movement of his String Quartet in A minor, D 804. Six moments musicaux, D. 780 (Op. 94) is a collection of six short pieces for solo piano composed by Franz Schubert. The movements are as follows: Moderato in C major Andantino in A♭ major Allegro moderato in F minor (ends in F major) (This One) Moderato in C♯ minor Allegro vivace in F minor (ends in F major) Allegretto in A♭ major (ends on an open octave in an A♭ minor context) Along with the Impromptus, they are among the most frequently played of all Schubert's piano music, and have been recorded many times.
The correct French forms are now usually used – moments (instead of momens), and musicaux (instead of musicals). Alt titles are Moments Musicaux, Pensées musicales, Musical Moments.

F part also provided) The String Quartet No. 14 in D minor, D 810, known as Death and the Maiden, is a piece by Franz Schubert that has been called one of the pillars of the chamber music repertoire.[1] It was composed in 1824, after the composer suffered a serious illness and realized that he was dying. It is named for the theme of the second movement, which Schubert took from a song he wrote in 1817 of the same title. Cobbett describes the third movement as the dance of the demon fiddlerThere is indeed something demonic in this fast-paced scherzo, full of syncopations and, like the other movements, dramatic leaps from fortissimo to pianissimo.

Natural Horn in A (alt Hn in F) Clarinet in A (alt Clt in Bb)

The Trout Quintet (Forellenquintett) is the popular name for the Piano Quintet in A major, D. 667, by Franz Schubert. The piano quintet was composed in 1819, when he was 22 years old; it was not published, however, until 1829, a year after his death.

Rather than the usual piano quintet lineup of piano and string quartet, the Trout Quintet is written for piano, violin, viola, cello and double bass.

The composer Johann Hummel had rearranged his own Septet for the same instrumentation, and the Trout was actually written for a group of musicians coming together to play Hummel's work. This is mvt III, a lively presto. It suits the wind quintet.

5 Minuets arranged for flute, oboe, clarinet in Bb, horn in F & bassoon. Numbers 1, 3 & 5 each have two trios, numbers 2 & 4 do not have trios. The originals for string quartet were composed on November 19th 1813 - exactly fifteen years before Schubert's death at the age of 31. They remained unpublished until 1886, though they were probably performed at social gatherings of Schubert and his friends along with the 5 German Dances with 7 trios and Coda composed around the same time. The variety of style and content shows Schubert experimenting and pushing the boundaries of the minuet beyond Classical into the Romantic era. Players of intermediate standard and above will enjoy exploring these exuberant pieces.

Schubert wrote three string trios, all of them in the key of B-flat major.

From the first of these, D 111A, a trio Schubert wrote in 1814, only a few measures are extant.

The string trio D 471 consists of a completed first movement and an incomplete second movement, composed in 1816.

The last of these trios, D 581, was completed in four movements, exists in two versions and was composed in 1817.
