Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quintet Bassoon,Clarinet,Flute,Horn,Oboe - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.553725 Composed by Charles Hubert Hastings Parry. Arranged by Ray Thompson. 20th Century,Holiday. 9 pages. RayThompsonMusic #3578623. Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.553725). Sir Charles Hubert Hastings Parry, 1st Baronet (27 February 1848 – 7 October 1918) was an English composer, teacher and historian of music.Parry's first major works appeared in 1880. As a composer he is best known for the choral song Jerusalem, his 1902 setting for the coronation anthem I was glad, the choral and orchestral ode Blest Pair of Sirens, and the hymn tune Repton, which sets the words Dear Lord and Father of Mankind. His orchestral works include five symphonies and a set of Symphonic Variations. The following is taken from All Music....Helen, Countess of Rador was the wife of the Fifth Earl of Longford Castle, Salisbury and was a close personal friend of Hubert Parry. She was unique in many ways, but perhaps the most intriguing aspect of her personality was her insistence upon doing things not normally viewed as acceptable ways for a proper Victorian Lady to entertain herself. One of these activities was commissioning works for a seventy-two piece chamber orchestra which she then conducted in a public performance in London. The Lady Radnor Suite is one such work, and Lady Radnor and her chamber orchestra gave the first performance June 29, 1894 at St. James Hall. Parry patterned the work on the early classical orchestral suite of dance movements, and the six movements all demonstrate the influence of antiquity. Each traditional dance style is preserved with great care, while Parry's own particularly English harmonic language marks them as more contemporary. This movt. is arranged for wind quintet.I have also arrangements of another suite by Parry on this site: The English Suite

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quintet Bassoon,Clarinet,Flute,Horn,Oboe - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1325401 Composed by Gustav Holst. Arranged by Ray Thompson. 20th Century,Christmas. 9 pages. RayThompsonMusic #913639. Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.1325401). Bring Us in Good Ale is a medieval English drinking song celebrating good drink and honoring Our Lady. For the medieval man, convivial drinking was a part of life, and drinks were enjoyed with nearly every meal. The English beverage of choice was ale. In Bring us in Good Ale the singers jocularly excuse themselves from mutton, eggs and pudding and instead stand firm in their call for their favorite drink. As they list all the dishes they refuse, the singers indirectly give thanks for the good season that has led to the plenty they are enjoying.Gustav Holst arranged it for unaccompanied choir as one of his 4 carols Op.34.It is quite short.Arranged here for wind quintet.Bring us in good ale, and bring us in good ale;For our Blessed Lady's sake, bring us in good ale.Bring us in no brown bread, for that is made of bran,Nor bring us in no white bread, there therein is no game; But bring us in good ale.Bring us in no beef, for there is many bones,But bring us in good ale, for that goes down at once; And bring us in good ale.Bring us in no bacon, for that is passing fat,But bring us in good ale, and give us enough of that; And bring us in good ale.Bring us in no mutton, for that is often lean,Nor bring us in no tripes, for they be seldom clean.Bring us in no eggys, for there are many shells,But bring us in good ale, and give us nothing else.Bring us in no butter, for there are many hairs;Nor bring us in no pig's flesh, for that will make us bears.Bring us in no puddings, for therein is all God's good;Nor bring us in no venison, for that is not for our blood; But bring us in good ale.Bring us in no capon's flesh, for that is often dear;Nor bring us in no duck's flesh, for they slobber in the mere; But bring us in good ale. Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quintet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.734486 By Lee Greenwood. By Lee Greenwood. Arranged by Dennis Ruello. 20th Century,Country,Historic,Patriotic,Singer/Songwriter. 18 pages. Chicory Music #5985529. Published by Chicory Music (A0.734486). God Bless the U.S.A. (also known as Proud to Be an American) is an American patriotic song written and recorded by American country music artist Lee Greenwood, and is considered to be his signature song. The first album it appears on is 1984's You've Got a Good Love Comin'. It reached No. 7 on the Billboard magazine Hot Country Singles chart when originally released in the spring of 1984, and was played at the 1984 Republican National Convention with President Ronald Reagan and First Lady Nancy Reagan in attendance, but the song gained greater prominence during the Gulf War in 1990 and 1991, as a way of boosting morale, and was re-included on his 1992 album American Patriot as a result of its newfound popularity. The popularity of the song rose sharply after the September 11 attacks and during the 2003 invasion of Iraq, and the song was re-released as a single, re-entering the country music charts at No. 16 and peaking at No. 16 on the Billboard Hot 100 pop chart in 2001. The song was also re-recorded in 2003 and released as God Bless the U.S.A. 2003. Greenwood also wrote a Canadian version of this song called God Bless You Canada. The song has sold over a million copies in the United States by July 2015.This version is arranged in Bb concert for Woodwind Quintet plus Optional Acoustic Bass and Drum Set at the Intermediate Level.Performance time: approx. 3 minutes.

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quintet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.937284 Composed by Scottish Traditional (Burns). Arranged by Hugh Levey. Celtic,Folk,Holiday,Irish,Traditional,Wedding. 24 pages. Woodwindly.com #6493483. Published by woodwindly.com (A0.937284). Wind Quintet (Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Horn, Bassoon) Duration 2 minutes 35 seconds. 23 Pages This is a fun set of variations on Robert Burns' My Love She's But a Lassie Yet) is sure to entertain in recital, at a Burns Night, St. Andrew's Night or for any occasion where there is a toast to Rabbie or to Scotland.Although Burns wrote the words of the song, he probably set them to a variation of an existing tune called Lady Badinscoth's Reel. This lively arrangement for Wind Quintet starts off with a stately ‘classical’ arrangement of My Love She’s But a Lassie Yet, but as it develops the tune combines with another traditional melody, followed by some operatic quotations, and even a five part fugue. It ends with an embellished restatement of the opening. It is great fun for all players.
