Hung (A0.1024840). Ā Inspire Infinite Potential is the first original composition of Stanley P. Hung. It was composed for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Concert Band 70th Anniversary in 2019. MIT Concert Band was founded by students in fall of 1948 and directed for 51 years by conductor John D. Corley. He directed the band from its inception in 1948 until his retirement last spring in 1999. Dr. Thomas E. Reynolds continued the job of music education at MITCB up to now about 20 years. He is the current music director and conducting the band together with co-conductor Collin Myers. (Reference: band.mit.edu)Ā  Ā  Mr. Hung had participated in a few public performances of MIT Concert Band and played trombone. His footprints not only appeared at MIT in Cambridge, but also in New York (2013), Maine (2014), and Philadelphia (2019) during spring tours. To come up with an idea by our originality then take it into practice was the spirit inspired by such ingenuity group. Therefore, Stanley tried to add this spirit into the music work Inspire Infinite Potential at creation stage. Its U.S. premiere was conducted by Dr. Reynolds and performed by the MIT Concert Band in campus (2019.12.10). The second edition is mostly based on the previous version. Some of notes, chords, articulations, and rhythms have been updated.

Small Ensemble Bassoon,Clarinet,Flute,Horn,Oboe - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.533642 Composed by Carson Cooman. Contemporary. Score and parts. 58 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #3035193. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.533642). Solar Visions (2004) for woodwind quintet was commissioned by and is dedicated to theArcadian Winds of Boston, Massachusetts, at the specific request of John Paul Aubrey, hornist. Hearing the Arcadian Winds perform contemporary music on numerous occasionswas an inspiration to the writing of this piece. The work is in three movements, each sharing the same basic musical material. The startingpoint for the work's conception is a dissonant cadential figuration from early American music, centered on Ab. Spinning out from this idea, the material extends to incorporate patterns ofperfect 5ths one semitone apart. This sense of cadence is extended in the work to makelarger-scale structures. The first movement, Recitatives and Chorales, consists of free, recitative-like material for theinstruments in solos. These recitatives often erupt into fast spirals. This texture is interruptedperiodically by chorale-like ideas presented by the full quintet. The second movement, Serenata, is a song-like with each instrument taking the melody inturn. Some of the recitative-ideas of the first movement re-emerge, as well as a rearticulationof the cadential figuration. The third movement, Dance, is energetic and driving. The dance is interrupted by arecollection of the first movement's material. The final resolution of the extended cadentialfigurations occurs at the end, and the work ends exuberantly with a flourish in Ab major.
