Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quintet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.889437 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Luis Anjos Teixeira. Baroque,Concert,Contemporary,Easter,Standards. 11 pages. Luis Anjos Teixeira #4741949. Published by Luis Anjos Teixeira (A0.889437). The cantata „Gottes Zeit ist die allerbeste Zeit, BWV 106- „God`s Time Is The Very Best Time, ranks among Bach's most important works. It is a work of genius such as even great masters seldom achieve. The Actus tragicus belongs to the great musical literature of the world. Although Bach's manuscript is lost, the work is agreed to be one of the earliest Bach cantatas, probably composed during the year he spent in Mühlhausen 1707/1708 as organist of the Divi Blasil church, at the age of 22. Various funerals known to have taken place at this time have been proposed as the occasion for the composition, for example that of his uncle Tobias Lämmerhirt from his mother's family, who died inErfurt on 10 August 1707, and that of Adolph Strecker, a former mayor of Mühlhausen, whose funeral was 16 September 1708. The earliest surviving manuscript, in the hand of Christian Friedrich Penzel, was copied in 1768 after Bach's death. It introduced the title Actus tragicus. The cantata was published in 1876 as part of the first complete edition of Bach's works: the Bach-Gesellschaft-Ausgabe,  edited by Wilhelm Rust.  The text consists of different Bible passages from the Old and New Testament, as well as individual verses of hymns by Martin Lither and Adam Reusner, which all together refer to finiteness, preparation for death and dying.  The Arrangement is relatively easy to perform, also appropriate for beginners.  It is an ideal piece for advanced performers, this music touches deep into the Soul. The piece was arranged for modern instruments, I introduced some embellishments and interpretation symbols thus shortening the length of some notes, but no notes where otherwise changed or omitted in this arrangement. Also the original placement of the voices is totally respected, the structure of the piece was simply left as it was composed in its original form. Bach scored the instrumental parts for a small ensemble of Baroque instruments two recorders, two violas da gamba and continuo. I propose an interpretation for a modern woodwind quintet in this arrangement. You should feel Free to apply in this piece the Art and technic that expresses entirely your individual skills, Your taste and Soul. Have fun! It is a piece that can be used in many different kinds of situations, from the serious concert hall to a funeral, in Easter or even Christmas celebrations and all other kinds of Spiritual events. When performed Live It will give you back a great  feedback from the public, you will always want to have it in your repertoire. The score was written on Finale. The sound file was produced with samplers from Garritan and conceived merely as an audio support for the presentation of this score. Thank you very much for taking your time to read this text and to listen to the file. I hope you have a lot of fun and enjoy the music. Sheers! Luis Anjos Teixeira Thanks to Claudia Eppelt for the all the Love, the wonderful painting and cover design. Special Thanks to Johann Sebastian Bach, Stray Dog Nina, Stray Queen Mimi, Carlinhos, Maria Pontinha, Maria Joaninha, Schwarzenegger, Maria Koboldinha.  For all Living beings on Earth, for all our Ancestors,  Thank You for all of You  All Your Love and Compassion. Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quintet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.596552 Composed by Juan María Solare. Concert,Contemporary,Instructional,World. 20 pages. Juan Maria Solare #4598385. Published by Juan Maria Solare (A0.596552). Ölflecke auf dem Wasser ( Oil spots on the water )This is my second Wind Quintet. The first one (Strange preludes and double canon) was written in 1992, this one in 2003 and there are numerous sketches (even complete movements) for a third one.The title Oil spots on the water doesn't have much with ecological issues, but rather with those abstract, colourful, poly-semantic shapes of small oil spots on asphalt, especially when it rains. The Wind Quintet Ölflecke auf dem Wasser was selected in 2003 in a shortlist of 31 among 270 compositions for the project Neue Kammermusik für Musikschulen (New chamber music for music schools) by the Verband deutscher Musikschulen (Association of German Schools of Music) in Bonn, Germany. In October 2004 this piece, together with two other pieces by the same composer, received first prize at the Bremer Komponistenwettweberb organised by the Council of the Music (Landsmusikrat) in Bremen, Germany.Ölflecke auf dem Wasser was first performed on 10th July 2004 at the Castle Sonderhausen in Germany by the Wind Quintet of the Music School Carl Schroeder of Sonderhausen: Eva-Maria Albrecht (flute), Malte Schneegaß (oboe), Antje Eckstein (clarinet) Julia Wallis (bassoon), Manuela Hirsch (horn), Stephan Uhl (conductor); in the cycle Neue Musik in alten Residenzen (New Music in old residencies) of the Council of the Music Thüringen. After the premiere, Stephan Uhl published an article about the piece: Juan María Solares 'Ölflecke auf dem Wasser' (2003) für Bläserquintett. Anregungen zur Praxisarbeit zwischen Interpretation und Improvisation (Oil spots on the water (2003) by Juan María Solare: Ideas about rehearsal practice between performance and improvisation). This article was published in November 2004 in the book Ensembleleitung Neue Kammermusik (Dokumentation und Arbeitshilfe des Modellprojekts), edited by the VdM (Verband deutscher Musikschulen - Association of German Music Schools), Bonn, ISBN 3-925574-59-X, pages 82-86.In March 2005 Oil spots on the water was chosen in the shortlist at the Piece of the Year Competition organised by Alan Taylor and the London Chamber Group. In this context it was performed on 10th July 2005 at a venue unknown to the composer.

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quintet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1024240 Composed by Kent Piper. Contemporary,World. 14 pages. RKPiper #4582335. Published by RKPiper (A0.1024240). Geometria is a serial composition*.Geometria, Latin for geometry, is an arrangement of sound shapes. Beginning with a parallelogram it moves to a square and then to a triangle. At the apex of the triangle the piece retrogrades back through the previous shapes; a mirror image in sound. The parallelogram is achieved by use of canon, the square by homophony and the triangle by staggered entrances. There are 5 instruments and 5 notes; F, F#, A,C# and Bb. F#,Bb,C# form a major triad, F#,A,C# form a minor triad, A,Bb,C# form trichord 3-3, Bb,C#,F form trichord 3-11 and A,C#,F form trichord 3-12. Therefore, 5 geometric shapes, 5 instruments, 5 notes, 5 plus harmonic possibilities and 5 players. *Serial Music - the use of a sequence of notes in a definite order as a thematic basis for a composition and a source from which the musical material is derived. Serialism was an attempt to escape tonal-centered compositions prior to the twentieth century. It began with Arnold Schoenberg's twelve tone-technique in the early 1900's, though some of his contemporaries such as Anton Webern, Alban Berg, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Pierre Boulez, Luigi Nono and Milton Babbit were also working to establish serialism as a form of post-tonal thinking. Other composers such as Bela Bartok, Luciano Berio, Benjamin Britten, John Cage, Aaron Copland, Olivier Messiean, Arvo Part, Dmitri Shostakovich and Igor Stravinsky used serialism only for some of their compositions.
