This version for wind quintet is much more based on The Carpenters cover version rather than the Beatles original. It was included in the duo's debut album release from 1969. Initialy the album was called 'Offering' and sold badly. When the duo became better known it was rereleased with a new name 'Ticket to Ride' and new cover. At the time the album was recorded, singing lead was much more equally shared and the arrangements were much simpler than they were on later albums.

Here is my brand new arrangement of For All We Know, fresh for the Spring season. The melody is given to the Horn, as the range is very suitable and it's nice to treat our hornists the melody from time to time. This will require some good control and very espressivo playing throughout. and a good deal of subtlety on the part of the accompaniment. other than this, the music is not difficult, though the horn part does go quite high and should be well within the grasp of most ensembles.

This ever popular song caused a stir in 1972. It was the first Carpenter hit written by Richard Carpenter & John Bettis but also featured a distorted guitar solo by Tony Peluso. Unless you want to plug your flute player in, I am not sure we can recreate that but a short solo for the flute is included as an acknowledgement of how important that solo became.
