Presented here is a wonderful Canzona published around 1615 for 3 brass choirs each with trumpets, trombones and tubas. Substitute parts are also included to handle the trombone parts with French horns. Each choir starts out with a pleasing harmonic chorale-like melody which then devolves into antiphonal and echo effects that Gabrieli is best known for. An impressive work for almost any church setting.
