Here though, iTromboni’s Andrew Poirier has crafted a beautiful trombone quintet arrangement of two movements from one of Tchaikovsky’s more intimate chamber works, his: String Quartet No. 1 in D major, Op. 11. 1. Andante Cantabile 2. Scherzo The original second movement, Andante Cantabile, is one of the most famous pieces Tchaikovsky ever wrote and its marvelous melodic lines are delicately passed between each trombone voice. This is followed by the third movement which is an upbeat Scherzo, full of energy, rhythmic drive and syncopation. Each movement can be performed on its own or together as this beautiful 10-minute suite. This arrangement has been created to showcase each member of the quintet with both beautiful lyrical solos and demanding technical passages.

The lyric is partly about being young and free, and partly about gender. and being a ‘dude’. It tells the story of several 'dudes' and celebrates what they get up to. Like many Bowie lyrics, it is double-edged, and the melody is catchy and fun to sing. Originally sung by the New York City Gay Men's Chorus, the arrangement sticks closely to the original groove and form, and is designed for an intermediate level group. There is also a solo for a Baritenor with pop sound.
