This arrangement was made for jazz band with flexible instrumentation. I arranged this piece for my current High School Jazz band which is not a traditional jazz band. I drew a lot of inspiration from the Cannonball Adderley recording Live at The Club and encourage my students to play along with this recording to understand how to feel the eighth notes and articulations. The solo section is open for anyone who would like to take a solo. Students can try to improvise or simply play the melody of the piece. All staccato notes should be played very short. My drum parts are written sparingly. I like to let the drummer of the band find their own feel and put trust in them to carry the band's tempo and feel.
