B-Flat Clarinet,Baritone Saxophone,Bass Guitar,Keyboard,Tenor Saxophone - Level 3 - Digital Download

SKU: A0.1250196

Composed by Gian Piero Reverberi and Robert Mellin. Arranged by Trevor Wharton. 20th Century,Film/TV. 25 pages. Bumpmusic Editions #844530. Published by Bumpmusic Editions (A0.1250196).

The English-language version's theme music by Gian Piero Reverberi and Robert Mellin, which the BBC requested before they would buy the serial, has been praised. Radio commentator Glenn Mitchell said The theme tune, with its rumbling introductory notes suggesting the rolling waves of the on-screen title sequence remains distinctive, as does the full incidental score, comprising numerous cues that in each case represent some part of Crusoe's existence.

This arrangementgives scope for the wind players to shape the various melodic elements in their own way. When the themes come together they should blend into a whole. The Bass and Keyboard parts support the wind instuments.

Wood and lyrics by Jack Lawrence. Vocalist Vic Damone recorded this version in the same year and released it as a B-side to I'll Always Be In Love With You (Mercury 5072), but it was unsuccessful. In 1952, Robert Mellin wrote a new title and lyrics for the song, and it was republished the next year as “My One and Only Loveâ€. When Frank Sinatra recorded it in 1953 with Nelson Riddle, first released as B-side to his hit single I've Got the World on a String (Capitol 2505), it became known as a jazz standard.
