Cello - very easy - Digital Download

SKU: S9.Q45316

Composed by Ferdinand Kuechler. This edition: separate part. Schott Student Edition - Repertoire. Downloadable, Individual part. Op. 11. Schott Music - Digital #Q45316. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q45316).

Key: G major. German • English • French.

Ferdinand Küchler is regarded as one of the great violin teachers of the 20th century, not least because of his violin method. His Concertino in G major Op. 11 still is a popular entry-level piece of concert literature even in today's violin lessons. Apart from the edition in the original instrumentation for violin and piano (SE 1001), this arrangement follows the title 'Concertino' and allows for early playing with string accompaniment – with string quartet and double-bass ad libitum or scored for multiple parts with string orchestra. Further individual orchestral parts are available for download at www.notafina.de. As an alternative to the viola part, a part for a third violin is notated as well. This edition is part of the new Schott Student Edition series which offers varied literature at five different levels of difficulty, from 1 (easy) to 5 (difficult), for instrumental lessons.

About Schott Student Edition

The Schott Student Edition gathers instrumental works for music lessons providing a unique and varied repertoire resource including standard teaching works, lesser known pieces which are perfectly suited to lessons as well as to student concerts and competitions.

The repertoire is divided into levels 1-5, from very easy to difficult, and includes works from the Renaissance up to modern performance pieces. Each title is graded, from very easy works for beginners up to demanding pieces for more advanced students who are preparing for further study or examinations.

Every work in the series has been carefully selected and edited by experienced music teachers. The editions also contain a wealth of information on the pieces as well as useful advice on studying, rehearsing and interpreting the works. The first titles to be published in the Schott Student Edition series contain works for violin, violoncello, flute, clarinet and recorder. Further editions are in preparation.

Cello,Flute,Piano,Violin - Digital Download

Composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Arranged by Kiyoshi Tamagawa. Chamber,Classical. 86 pages. Mastery for Strings Press #892654. Published by Mastery for Strings Press (A0.1303067).

The piano concertos of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart remain among the masterpieces in the medium. His early Vienna concertos were scored for full orchestra, but conceived as being performable by a keyboard soloist with string quartet or string orchestra alone. The flexibility of the scoring shows that Mozart was not averse to having them played by more intimate groups, transforming them into chamber music.

A rather different aesthetic viewpoint motivated the composer Johann Nepomuk Hummel’s arrangements of seven of Mozart’s piano concertos, composed between about 1825 and 1836. The accompanying ensemble in these arrangements consists not of strings alone but flute, violin, and cello. The participation of the instruments is in fact optional, as the orchestral tuttis are incorporated into the piano part so that a single piano soloist can perform the entire work. Hummel also considerably altered the solo keyboard parts to increase their range and brilliance.

The present transcription pays homage to Hummel’s elaborate and beautiful reworkings, well worth performing today, by using the same combination of instruments. The editorial viewpoint, however, is that of maximum fidelity to Mozart’s original text. The hope of the transcriber is twofold: 1) that keyboard performers, instrumentalists and audiences might enjoy this beautiful work in the absence of a full orchestra, and 2) that pianists might use this version to get Mozart’s original solo part in their fingers with a minimum of alteration, for such occasions when they are called upon to perform it.

Composed by Frederic Chopin. Arranged by Piacere Music Sheets. Instructional,Romantic Period,Standards. Score and parts. 6 pages. Piacere Music Sheets #701615. Published by Piacere Music Sheets (A0.1097676).

Opus/Catalog Number: Op.74, No.2, B.117
Key/Tone: G Minor
Movements/Sections: 1 (Andantino)
Year/Date of Composition: 1838
Difficulty: Grade 4/12 (Intermediate)
Obs.: The 17 Polish Songs, Op. 74 were assembled posthumously and are not in chronological order. This particular song, Wiosna [Spring], although the second song in the set, was actually the fourteenth Chopin wrote. It was composed in 1838 and first published in Berlin in 1857. It is thus contemporary with the Op. 33 mazurkas and Op. 40 polonaises. Chopin's Polish song Wiosna is set on a text by the composer's friend and Polish poet Stefan Witwicki (1801-1847). Witwicki's descriptions of blossoming flowers and animals in green pastures contrast with gloomy ruminations.
The music is beautifully simple and quite melancholic. This piano piece Wiosna is in fact the piano part of the song Wiosna. Chopin arranged it for piano solo several times for his friends between 1838 and 1848.
Franz Liszt also transcribed it for the second of his Chants polonais.
This is an arrangement for Viola and Cello.

SKU: A0.1039690

Composed by Christian Petzold. Arranged by Thomas Evdokimoff. Baroque,Classical,Traditional,Wedding. Score and parts. 7 pages. Evdokimoff Press #644585. Published by Evdokimoff Press (A0.1039690).

An arrangement for two or more guitars of Petzold's famous Minuet in G from Anna Magdalena's Notebook (1725). Originally attributed to J. S. Bach, this minuet is a perennial favourite for all instrumentalists. I've arranged this work for two guitars with some suggested fingerings and articulations. Intended for intermediate level student players and student guitar ensembles, the melody passes between the first and second guitars so that both parts are equal in focus and level of difficulty. The B section calls for playing in the VIIth and IInd positions. Parts can be doubled for larger guitar ensembles to good effect. Score and parts included.
